magicwormman Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 You boys, as usual covered everything they need for a great trip. The only thing that you left out was Reeds Spring Pizza (voted best in the state of Missouri by USA Today). Champ188 1
gitnby Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 I had a chance to meet "Bass Fishing" (Austin) and his lovely fiance on the water yesterday. We stayed in touch by text and phone trying to figure out the bite? I got hung up with some projects at the house, so I never got out on Friday, and only fished a few hours Sat & Sun. I wish I could have been of more help, but Saturday was downright tough! Austin did manage a 3#lb spot, which would have won the OA tourney, I reminded him? Sunday, things got a little better with the warm up. He had a 3# + smallie, and a few others on a wart and a Ned. Said he was finding the wart fish off of ledge rock and others on shady docks. I had a few keeps off shady docks on the Ned, and lost a big un in some deep trees on a FB jig. He really wrapped me up, and I could feel him pullin, but couldn't shake him free. got right over the tree, and I could see his big ole head right against the limb. Don't want to guess on the exact size, but it was a good one! He was strippin drag before he got in the tree. I should have had it down tighter? Fishing 14# line. What a sick feeling! Anyway, I really enjoyed hearing from Austin, and he was very appreciative of my help. (wish I could have done more? really thought it would be better based on the water temp and conditions) Nice young man with some definite fishing skills! They are set to be married next Summer, and I told him not to wait too long! A pretty girl like her that will sit out and fish with him all day? Definite KEEPER! Bass Fishing and fishingaddiction 2
dtrs5kprs Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 100% agree. The perfect fisherman's wife either likes to go, or doesnt care either way. Hard to find. Did any of the color and wood make it down the lake to Kimberling yet?

Parmesan's on old 13 by Mark's shop makes a very good pie as well, and delivers to the Kimberling resorts.

gitnby Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 Water is still clear around KC, maybe a little tinge of color in the backs of the creeks, but Lots of sticks and stuff floating.

Just make sure you get it all raked out of the way before I get down in April. I hate fishing and running around when it looks like someone emptied a giant wood chipper all over the lake. Plays hell with redfins.
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted March 17, 2015 Root Admin Posted March 17, 2015 Can you believe that it took almost 10 years for someone to claim the screen name... "Bass Fishing" !! Hunter53 and Quillback 2
