dtrs5kprs Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 Some video Darren Combs was good enough to share. They have really been catching them on the little rig, including during the OAF last weekend. Will let him elaborate on the bite if he so chooses. Days in the ten plus keeper/40 fish range. https://youtu.be/svTFFj_7UbQ Smallieguy87 and abkeenan 2
Quillback Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 Good deal. I am looking forward to getting back out on that lake.
Ham Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 Other than trying to feel the bite and setting the hook "too Hard" it looked like they have the technique down. Lol Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
willyfish Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 From what I understand you basically just dead stick it. I would think just a sweep set or just lift the rod and reel would be the deal. I just got those heads today, thanks Dave.

Have lost too many fish fooling with "reeling into them". That works better when you are swimming it. Ham 1
Ham Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 I have got to get me one of those Faux Pro cameras. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
Guest Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 Dave doesn't use braid, so he's gotta bust em hard. The braid users just lean into the fish & reel down on them. Everybody's got their own way. If you set the hook that hard with braid & it's not a fish but a stump, you're gonna wish you hadn't. I catch 90% of my bites with the lean & reel method. They stay buttoned up even when they go airborne.
