Guest Posted April 6, 2015 Posted April 6, 2015 I'm down after pinching the nerve in my L5 & SI joint. Pain meds, muscle relaxers, steroid shot, tens unit, heating pad, cane. Nothing seems to help. Maybe it's time for traction. #PainTrain Anybody else experience frequent recurring back pain?
moguy1973 Posted April 6, 2015 Posted April 6, 2015 Yep. I've really had to learn how to control it over the last 15 years or so. When it goes though it goes and I'm down and out. It's all about strengthening the core muscles. Quillback Posted April 6, 2015 Posted April 6, 2015 Sorry to hear that. I get back pain every once in a while myself but usually not as bad as you are experiencing. Hopefully you'll recover soon.
Ham Posted April 6, 2015 Posted April 6, 2015 That's terrible TFR. Man, I hope you get feeling better soon. Back pain like that screws up all aspects of your life NOT just our silly side passion. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
Nighthawk Posted April 6, 2015 Posted April 6, 2015 If you're near Springfield, get your doctor to refer you to a PT named Susan Grimshaw. She will fix you up in short order. DownStream 1

I used to think they were a little hokie pokie, but the good ones work wonders! If you have never done it I would highly suggest it. I refused the narcotics and relied on prayer and meditation only to ease the hurting. It does work! No chiropractors either because they cost so much$ imo. I know a guy who spends thousands a year at several diff. chiropractors and his back relief is only temporary. I pinched mine standing up from a seated position on the ground, fell down , had to crawl across the yard back to the house and needed help getting inside. pain was a 7 out of 10, and i can take a lot of pain. After a about a month i was fine again , get well soon
fishinwrench Posted April 6, 2015 Posted April 6, 2015 I hate that worse than anything. It always happens at the most inconvenient times too. Takes me 2-3 weeks to get right again.
Duck Posted April 6, 2015 Posted April 6, 2015 Tell me about it, I have a " H " plate with seven screws in my lower back but I'm still buying green bananas. Good, fishin, Duck.
Guest Posted April 6, 2015 Posted April 6, 2015 I'm at the chiropractor right now. This is a recurring problem that started in 2009 & flares up every 6-12 months. This time I got the pain level up to a 9. There is no comfort zone. I've got an inversion table that really helps, once I get over the hump. Things you take for granted & can't do: Putting on your shoes, standing up straight, walking, sleeping, picking up my child, doing laundry, dishes, taking out trash. General daily routine is totally shot.
