Guest Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 I caught 8 walleye & 3 spots vertical jigging the Ned yesterday at beaver Think pitching & vertical jigging a spoon inside dock stalls. Similar setup
dtrs5kprs Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 I'll give it a whirl. BTW. I was getting bit more than Champ on the Ned yesterday afternoon and then he noticed he had given me a 1/16th head and he had the bigger one. That 1/16 is a real beast. Everyone latches on to the 1/8 because they can feel it, but the 1/16 will eat its lunch. J-Doc, InPiney, fisherofmen11 and 2 others 5
Jim Elam Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 Regarding the float n fly comment above, I have had great luck in the winter up the James river just below Springfield with a half a zero wacky rigged under a bobber on SM and Ks. Also in a local pond. I'm guessing they would work well with a drop shot presentation as well. That Fattyz deal can be pretty effective at times in deeper water on a 1/4 or 5/16 mushroom head. Cabelas makes a good head for that bait that has a keeper on it. Fishes like a shaky head but with the larger profile. That jig head can't compete with Dave's on a Ned because it is too big, but on the larger Fattyz application it is just right. Quillback Posted May 3, 2015 Author Posted May 3, 2015 I'm guessing they would work well with a drop shot presentation as well. Maybe use the Ned as the 'weight' in a drop shot setup. Drop it into a school of angry spots and I could see doubles possibilities. magicwormman 1

Ham Posted May 3, 2015 Posted May 3, 2015 I haven't dropped the Ned in the clowns mouth yet, but I have dropped a grub straight down on fish I saw on the depth finder and caught them. I absolutely know a Ned would do that job as well. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish

Champ188 Posted May 6, 2015 Posted May 6, 2015 Hey, and some tournaments out there allow multiple baits on a drop-shot rig but disallow the A-rig. Go chew on that one for awhile.
