I like the life jacket as a pillow. :D

Don't go there....the "Beetle Spin" originators will be out in full force if you bring up that can of worms. But I think it was Timmy Horton that made it somewhat popular to put a little spinner in the tail section of a nedlike worm. Called it the MJ Rig.

I remember the fishing show Timmy did on Lake Seminole where he was smoking the big girls on a 5" stick worm with the MJ Rig. Didn't look all that practical for Table Rock, since we don't have any grass to fish.

I was wondering the other day why not feathers? Especially orange ones.

Ned and others have been messing with that idea. Have not seen the need for it yet myself.

I think it's what makes the Ned so great...simplicity. No frills, no flash, no true action. Should probably stay that way.

Precisely. My level of experimentation with it is pretty much zero these days, except for locations/depth/conditions. The basic bait works as well as any option.

Exactly. I'm not throwing any other type of soft plastic. No rattles. No blades. no miniture disco ball. 1/16 oz > 66% of the time and 1/8 when fishing deep or it's really windy.

Guys, Charlie Brewer and Billy Westmorland are smiling at you from above.

BTW, when a really good technique becomes popular, wait a year or three and then fish it again when others have moved on. Think Shannon twin spins, Big O's, and Jitter bugs.

And Chuck Wood, father of the Beetle, and arguably the Ned by extension.

Is that a golf hat?

You're onto my secret. I fish in my golf caps and play golf in my fishing caps.

For sure a golf hat "COBRA". Loved my Cobra driver I had several years ago. That big front deck serves another purpose other than a casting platform. ZZZZZZZZZZ!

Were you guys on the lower end? Thanks for the report and pics.

Love my Cobra irons although I'm starting to get a touch of Ping fever.

And yes sir, we were on the lower end. Launched at Old 86. The nap was enjoyed in the back of Beardsley.
