dtrs5kprs Posted May 15, 2015 Posted May 15, 2015 Some days the best tool in the box is either a hammer or a .357 S&W. Smalls21 1
Muddy Water Posted May 15, 2015 Posted May 15, 2015 No disagreement there. Fuel can go bad, for sure. And I never meant to say that non-ethanol fuel didn't exist, but every boat I test has 10% alcohol in the tank. I see ALOT of boats. Might be that the guys buying the ethanol free gas do not have a need for a mechanic Champ188 and Tanderson15 2
skeeter Posted May 15, 2015 Posted May 15, 2015 Rapid Roberts in KC gas ethanol free although it's 93 octane. Phillips 66 in Branson West has it in 91 octane. Be careful there. The "Village Mart" on the corner of Business 13 (old 2 lane hwy 13 ) and 76 in Branson West no longer has Ethanol free premium. "Fast Freddies" about 1/4 mile South of that 13/76 intersection on the West side of Business 13 (towards Sonic ) does still sell Ethanol free premium. Last year, I asked the counter attendant at Village Mart why they stopped selling Ethanol free gas and he had no answer but admitted they had lost a lot of business because of it. Ha-Bob's at 13 and Hwy "H" in Lampe still sells Ethanol free 91 Octane. Ethanol truly does suck and did, and may still have, a very well-funded lobbyist group. At least the U.S. Congress cancelled the corn growers Ethanol sub$idy a couple of years ago....finally. What I have been unable to find an explanation for is that I've heard from anglers in neighboring States like AR, KS, NB that they can buy Ethanol free 87 Octane but in MO, it's gotta' be 91 Octane or above. Why is that ? www.pure-gas.org
Smalls21 Posted May 15, 2015 Posted May 15, 2015 no fuel additive is 100% guarnteed. fuel additives and stabilizers were designed to HELP prevent fuel related issues. It's kinda like those of us that take a daily vitamin, just because we take a vitamin doesn't mean we will NOT get sick.
J-Doc Posted May 15, 2015 Posted May 15, 2015 Sorry I was napping.... Is this still going? Lol! OldMillRoad Posted May 15, 2015 Posted May 15, 2015 Outboard engines may hate it, but I run pretty good on ethanol....
holleybob Posted May 15, 2015 Posted May 15, 2015 How about a diesel outboard ? Thats it, a straight six Cummins outboard!. 1100 lbs of it setting on the back of a bass rig modified with 4 pontoons to float that bad boy. Then we can all dispute the topics of biodiesel, bio blends, DEF fluids, and smoke...oh the smoke !!

holleybob Posted May 15, 2015 Posted May 15, 2015 i'm gonna guess you have a bumper sticker that says" Diesel smoke makes me Horny" Did I make it that obvious ? I do drive a diesel. No bumper stickers though. Does make me wonder if it's possible though. We have some smarts farts in this country..anything is possible if you get the right guys on it!
Smalls21 Posted May 15, 2015 Posted May 15, 2015 they can make a propane outboard engine, why not a diesel one?
