Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted May 22, 2015 Root Admin Share Posted May 22, 2015 Good jig fishing this morning on Taneycomo. Drifted from the cable down to Fall Creek twice- first drift did very well catching a lot of nice rainbows. Second drift they shut off- pretty amazing. But did catch a nice 17 inch brown below Lookout and then this beast at the Narrows. Was too big for the 20 inch photaruim but still a good pic. Johnsfolly
Phil - Great borwn trout. That fish had great coloration. Were you using 2lb or 4lb line?
Johnsfolly
I guess it would help if I could spell the word brown. How deep was the water that you were fishing?

Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted May 23, 2015 Author Root Admin Share Posted May 23, 2015 4-pound line. Water was about 6 feet deep. She was in the channel at the Narrows. I used to catch a lot of browns there with the water running on white jigs but this was the first in probably 4-5 years. It hit very hard and immediately took off. Almost broke off on the strike. I backed off the bank to the middle of the lake as fast as I could because I knew it would go to the trees along the bank. I headed up lake first which helped me get position on it. Then it was a matter of keeping the line tight and tiring it out. Ralda, Seth and Terrierman
