That is an awesome idea. Best compromise to ease some pressure off spawning fish without having a true "off season" on a lake I've read.

Maybe I don't understand the process trying to be outlined here but I don't see how this would be any better than spreading the pressure out. All this does is put the pressure in smaller areas.

I have fished table rock for years and can honestly say I have never stuck a knife in a bass. Personally I would never post a fishing report if I thought people were using that information to kill fish. I take my son fishing all the time, and The joy I see on my son's face when he catches a nice fish is priceless. It blows my mind the number of other species of fish to eat, and pull up to a boat ramp and see 3 and 4 lb fish cleaned and left. Take care of what we have and leave it in great shape for generations to come!

Why is one species more important or special than the other? Because you choose to like it? Are you special? What if I were a trophy crappie or catfish fisherman and got my feelings hurt every time someone fillets one?

I haven't heard any of the guides chime in when a client wants to take fish home.

Personally I don't fish TR anymore, about 20yrs ago I found a lake to the south called Bull Shoals, I don't think I've ever sat in line to fish a point and rarely contend with someone to fish where I want even in summer, oh wait, how does that saying go...no fish here..... move along. And as far as keeping fish to eat, seldom does a " good un" eye or crap live to see another day when coming into my boat so if you want to keep a few k's to fry up, who am I to say, and I was just wondering if that stringer of k's came out of bull if anybody would have said anything?

Have to admit, I find it more than a little disturbing to find out how many obviously good fishermen are still killing bass with regularity, especially as tourists.

I grew up in IA, and we saw lakes absolutely decimated by out of state clubs, out of state recreational anglers, and local meat fishermen killing fish. Also a lot of that went on at Smithville, and it took its toll.

Each bass in this lake is a treasure, not only to anglers, but to the local economy. Really hope folks keep that in mind if they choose to harvest, and do so selectively. Killing limits of bass is just not sustainable behavior.

I don't understand the debate. The man did nothing wrong, only thing wrong with the pic was he wasn't wearing a jersey to get the pisser and moaner more aggravated. I grew up in SE Ark where old timers keep EVERYTHING they catch and those waters still produce. Wanna see pressure? Go to Pickwick, Kentucky, Guntersville lakes. Wanna cry about the resource? Quit wasting time/energy on a message board, get in touch with people that can do something about stocking bass...they ain't here. If enough people complain, and there is really a problem, stockings will take place.

As far as being a person with high morals/ethics for not sight fishing during a tourney? Please...if you're fishing water less than 15 feet deep, you're taking fish off beds. It baffles me the "I'm better than you" attitude portrayed by certain people. I can promise I ain't better than anyone but I guarantee you ain't better than me because I choose to exercise my legal and GOD given right to eat a fish!

I'll tell you what. I'll keep a 15" Kentucky and then keep a couple white bass and fix them as I do. I'll blindfold you and have 2 plates one with the white bass and one with the black bass and I'll bet you a pre-rapala wiggle wart that you couldn't tell the difference between the two.

Goodness gracious I would hope most people could tell them apart. I'm comfortable saying I could tell the difference. I can tell bass and white bass and crappie and walleye and catfish and bluegill. It isn't difficult at all.
