Members NickIL Posted June 16, 2015 Members Posted June 16, 2015 Are you guys using spinning gear when fishing the Ned that deep? FC line, or light braid & FC leader?
Seth Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 Are there any confirmed tournament wins by anglers fishing the NED as their main bait? I know I gave a PBJ NED a really good try at a very dingy Meramec River tourney recently. It was the most productive lure of the day for numbers, but never produced a single keeper. Chompers and senkos produced far less, but much better quality bites. Mitch f 1
fishinwrench Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 It will catch them on LO but you're not gonna wrestle a decent fish over the cables on 6-8# line unless you just get lucky. I'm holding out for a Magnum version.
Old plug Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 5 bites ------Well my goodness I suppose I am suppose to hang my head in shame. That is just plain wishful thinking. Why in the world would anyone object to the Elkins Jig name. The. guys that made them called it a jig didnt they. They didn 't cal it something else. I have used Elkins jigs in the 5/16 size until I started building hair jigs again. That is only because I could always find them in 5/16 oz sizes. You mean to tell me you think the Elkins jig was not a jig. Oh by the way it is taking between 16 and 18 lbs to even draw the lowest pay out her on LOZ in a tourney that on goes 4 hrs from 6 to 11 pm.
Members Omega jig bass Posted June 16, 2015 Members Posted June 16, 2015 All this debate over 1 lure. And all the hype is from fisherman not salesman I don't get this topic. It's a friggin lure!
5bites Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 1. Its pretty self explanatory. 2. Another mortal hook wound. 3. Did you happen to catch the irony in the first and second paragraph of the quote? 4. If not, it explains it all to the rest of us. Looks like I'm nailed it, as usual. Thanks for your contributions bear.

I'm holding out for a Magnum version. This is an actual legitimate statement and criticism of the bait. No reason a 1/4oz head and a longer cut stick worm wouldn't work with 12-15lb flouro. Especially in the shallower water behind docks. Surely someone makes a shorter hooked shakyhead that would work for this.
Members Omega jig bass Posted June 16, 2015 Members Posted June 16, 2015 But the elastic helps the bait float and fall really slow which supposedly makes the bait catch fish. Normal plastics and heavier jigs make the bait fall too fast. That's just what I read on bass resource.
Old plug Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 5 bites you have absolutly no preception of what flipping is behind a dock. I got to wonde have you ever done it. Many docks up hear have 6 or more cables on them. You do not know wrench so I would not be trying to tell him about Flipping docks.
