I just tried the 100% PG and thought it was alright. I think Seguar INVIZX is better overall based on my usage of both but the Berkeley performed well. I'd say the only area where i had some issues was it wasn't as abrasion resistant then what i'd expected. For the money though i really like Seguar Red label. I normally get it for just under 10 dollars a spool and the #8 works great on every spinning reel i've used. As far as Yozuri hybrid goes i used the hybrid soft and its pretty awesome stuff. I found a 600 yard spool for 8 bucks on ebay and had to have it.

This is really interesting, but in my experience Invisx has the abrasion resistance of a snowflake on a hot day. I saw the Berkley 100% fluro get absolutely abused and I checked and found no scuffing at all. A fish had wrapped a friend in wood and he horsed him thru the wood to the boat. I said man you need to re-tie after that. He checked and said Nah, it's good. I checked the line also after him because I just could not believe it. It was completely undamaged.

I lost a lot of fish and a lot of football jigs using 15 lb Invisx. And this was despite frequent re-ties. I loved everything about InvisX except the lack of abrasion resistence. I switched to Abras X and I am good to go.

Update:

After 3 fishing trips with this, I'm no longer going to use it anymore. Broke off on a fair sized large mouth while wading while using this. Also broke off on a hook set with the same spool. My fishing partner experienced the same results without me even mentioning what line I was using. Back to my Yozuri hybrid and never looking back. (Never say never?)

I've had the opposite experience. I use a lot of it in 10-pound test, mainly for trolling, granted, but also use it for casting various things. I've never had a break off that I recall, except when I have had to do so. And then it takes a couple of men and a boy to break the stuff. I do not tie directly to the lure when trolling but use a Duraloc clip and tie with a San Diego jam knot. I've not lost a fish from breakage.

Is the break at the knot or in the line itself?

It could be you and your friends have a bad batch, you aren't wetting the knots or are pulling them tight too fast, have a bad rod guide-- or something else entirely. Fluorocarbon can be cranky about how it's treated, I know that.

I will say that I've used this line (and the XL version in 6 and 8) in 8- through 12-pound without a noticeable problem. But I'll watch to see if I find one in the future.

I have used it in 8# & 10# for tippet material the last couple years and really like it. It seems to love the knots I tie.

Guess that's why there are so many folks making a living by selling us line. The only flouro I ever truly hated was Vanish, but some folks just love it. Who knows?

I use vanish and invisx for tippet at night. Almost always 4lb. Landed several big fish up to and including 13 lb.

Maybe that's the ticket for all 100% fluoros, using them as leader material only. Once they get kinked, by using them as a main line, (especially the smaller diameters) they seem to fail at a much higher rate than mono.
