We've had others, probably more than I can remember. Offhand there was the grad student tracking study, some info on plankton and sunlight, etc.

I've read enough primary source professionally, and known enough folks who write it, to be a tad leery of it. Pretty easy to skew things to support your own notions, grant needs, etc. This one seems pretty straight up, but like a lot of studies leaves the reader making some connections.

There's no way that is true. I've probably killed less than a limit of fish by accident in the last 5 years much less 30 per year. I killed about a 3lb beauty smallie last year on a jika rig that wasn't gut hooked or anything and it made me sick. Kept him in the livewell trying to revive him but it was too no avail. Not sure what happened but I hated to see it.

I am not going to bash on people that keep limits of fish that is within reason. Like I've said before it's well within the regulations and laws set forth by the state of Missouri/Arkansas. But I guess I just don't follow the logic of spending a lot of money on gas, rods/reels, tackle, boats, etc to travel to a lake to fill a cooler/freezer. You could save a ton of money going to the local grocery store and buying tons of fillets for much less if the meat is all you're after in the end. Isn't the point of traveling to a lake like Table Rock for the experience of feeling a fish tugging on your line and taking in all the sights, sounds, smells and overall aesthetics that the lake presents? Wouldn't you want to protect that and make it sustainable for future generations to enjoy? Taking a 15" fish out of the lake means it has 0 opportunity to give someone else the pleasure of saying "get the net" to a family or friend and bringing a smile to your/their face. It also means that fish has no chance to become a true trophy fish and you are basically starting from square one with another smaller fish to fill its place that will take years to get it back to that length/size. If you are fishing out of necessity to eat that is one thing but I highly doubt most people here with their 100 Mbps internet speed access to Ozark Anglers or using their 4G LTE Smartphone have those types of 3rd world problems.

I personally like hearing fishing reports they are great, the more the better. Im sure people dont post there reports on here cuz they are afraid of being yelled at.

You guys who like to read the fishing reports are cutting your own fingers off with your fillet knives. Because of all the self-professed meat fishermen on this site --- let alone those who have threatened to kill bass out of spite and all of the guests who stroll by undetected --- my reports will be notably lacking in detail from here out, and I know that several others have told me theirs will also be far more general in nature.

Well I for one am disappointed that James and others are going to scale back their reports. Quillback, James and Donna, Dave, Babler and others here spend a bunch of time on the water and share valuable info that helps people out tremendously. This place is a great resource from fishing tackle to the latest reports on the lake. Just look how many out-of-towners post here that nobody knows from Adam and people go out of their way to help. Now that might not be the case.

Yep! I am very disappointed. This site has been a place I look too when fishing is tough for pointer and hints. These guys will forget more about this lake then most of these guys will EVER know. That's the truth.

So joke all you want and do what u want to do. But I know personally this will hurt my chances of going out and catching fish on tr.

These guys have helped many people who haven't floated a boat on this lake. I'm sure they are grateful and will also be disappointed to hear this news.

I was not going to comment on this but why are some of you so gung ho about keeping bass? Obviously most of the guys on here are catch and release and you come blabbing about how you keep bass when you can and it is no big deal. Well it is a big deal to me, especially when this is such a good resource and some of the members post great information and give you specific ways to catch them. I wouldn't broadcast if you like frying bass all over the forum like some have either. You are just cooking you own goose and reports will be left out. You want to keep a few bass every now and then, and when I say a few I don't mean a whole limit. That is fine and your choice and right. I personally never keep any because there is better fish to eat. I would like to say a lot of other things but I'm going to bite my tongue and hope things go back to normal around here. If you keep bass don't broadcast all over the forum or you will never see reports on here and the catch and release guys won't have to think about you taking a knife to a fish before they post a report.
