Ham Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 So, this year we are having to deal with higher than normal water (again), but that's not so bad. We should get great numbers of most gamefish some where down the line to offset of inconviences this year AND I'm gonna guess that the aquaifers are getting nicely recharged. Maybe our temps won't get crazy high this summer and maybe our fall won't be bone dry. Hopefully, we can all find some time to fish with family and friends and not spend all our time woried about making ends meet and day to day craziness. I appreciate that we have not had the flooding of TX, OK, and Louisiana. The high water has altered my fishing plans a little bit, but nothing that really matters. Try to stay safe y'all. Feathers and Fins Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 Ham, my perspective on it is this. We are having a Gret high water year and know in about 3 years to 5 years these year class fry will be pulling on my line and making me smile. The rain has killed some of my garden but really helped other parts of it. I'm blessed to be doing what I love in life and have a wife that now 6 years and never a fight or argument I really cant say anything bad at this point in my life except maybe not being closer to family but on the same token there is no way I would want to live in that God forsaken state anymore. So all in all bright outlooks and bright futures. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
oneshot Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 Never I say Never complain about the rain. I always think of the alternative. oneshot
Blll Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 We moved here from Illinois because of the flooding of the Des Plaines river near Chicago. After 20 years, it flooded our house 2x in 5 years and the city & FEMA actually bought our property rather than continue to pay flood claims. Only trouble with the water this year is my wife actually has PTSD from the Illinois flooding and all the water talk lately scares her. We Love it here but hope this is not the norm. I am surprised the COE has kept the level this high when it seems TR has a lot of available capacity. Lets send them some Beaver water. Anybody fishing? Pretty quiet forum lately. Going to wade to my slip tomorrow.
trythisonemv Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 It seems as though timing it right has been the trick this year. I've been rained out several times. I agree that it'll be beneficial to fish populations though. There's always a need there. Fish on I say
jtram Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 The best part about this area is that regardless of conditions, there is always something available to fish. God always gives what is needed to get by, and the hay is piling up.... nasty winter? Hope not, just take what you get and put a smile on.
Norm M Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 I can't control the weather so I try to learn how to deal with it's effects on my river I go out and fish while learning from success and failure, better than sitting at home griping about it and annoying my wife . what a long strange trip it's been , put a dip in your hip, a glide in your stride and come on to the mother ship , the learning never ends
