Yep it works in Oklahoma. Watched my dad catch a lot of fish on it on Lake Lawtonka. Some big white bass included. This was back in the late 1970's.

All this talk about the Ned has been reminding me of how good he would of been at fishing it. Yeah he wasn't using a mushroom head back in those days, nor elaztech, but he fished it the same way and caught a lot of fish doing it.

Brother, I am glad to see some dry land in the background. I heard y'all had been pounded as badly as us in NWA the last several weeks!

That lake was 20' low 2 months ago, only about 4' from normal pool now!

What lake were you fishing, fly rod?

Very small municipal lake in southern Oklahoma

Sorry but once it crosses the state line the name "ned" no longer applies. In Oklahoma it would either be the "Sooner Rig" or perhaps the "Cowboy Rig" depending upon your preference. In Kansas it would likely be the "Jawhawker" because it brings a fiery death to innocent lives. In Arkansas they just call it that "half a rubber worm on a crappie jig thingy".

Well I'd slit my wrists and sink to the bottom of the lake if I had to call it the Sooner rig, Cowboy Rig has a nice ring to it!!!

I bet it would rock on Lawtonka, I was fishing a Duncan City Lake!

Can we just get a NED part of the board.

Those are great bass... but not in Tablerock. And i know the oklahoma section wont get the same number of views..

All things NED go in the NED subforum so people who go there know that it will be all about the NED.

It's not a terrible idea.

Of course since he learned the technique in the TR forum, and on TR, it is certainly germane to this forum.

In some ways the TR forum is almost more of the general forum, just because of the traffic. Some of the others have cobwebs.
