mjk86 Posted July 15, 2015 Posted July 15, 2015 There are plenty of misguided people that want to prevent legal firearm ownership and other that are just as bad that want to regulate it to the point of firearms being museums pieces. Pretending otherwise is naïve. Perhaps you should re read the 2nd Amendment, specifically it contains the language 'shall not be infringed'. It does not state you can own them, but they must be locked up. It may surprise you that people can own firearms, carry concealed, and do so safely and effectively. Thousands of people do it everyday and the streets are not running red with blood, there are not shoot outs on every street corner, and more than one crime is prevented by the mere presence of a firearm in the hands of a potential victim. Im not sure where you live but something tells me its nowhere near st louis or any other large city...I believe 6 were shot last night in st louis. Tote that thing around in a place where you might actually need it and it would end up as a stolen murder weapon used on you.

Anything. Gun control would not have stopped Sandy Hook. A mentally ill person murdered his mother, stole her guns and killed innocent people. Men and Fish are alike....They all get into trouble when they open their mouths....

And nothing has been done since to deal with that sad situation (guns in a home with mentally ill. What could possibly go wrong?). Which was and remains my point. NOT ONE THING. And nothing ever will be either. We will put up with madness and shake our heads and turn away.

Yes, the line 'shall not be infringed' means you can keep and bear arms, well done. The few who wish to remove guns from the equation, cannot and will not succeed, much like those who want perpetual war in the Middle East likely will not succeed without a warmonger president. Provide your documentation to support your statement. Let's see the numbers and how they are reached. Something about lies, darn lies, and statistics comes to mind. I can tell you are not a student of history. Please take some time and study Germany circa 1938-45 and the Bolshevik revolution in Russia. In both cases governments were very effective in curtailing personal fire arms ownership. It is indeed possible and those that do not study and understand history do so at their own peril. As to the Middle East.....There will never be a sustainable peace in the region. Too many bad actors. It does not matter who is in the White House, Congress, or anywhere else. There will be some level of conflict for longer than our children's children will be alive.

I have never had a gun stolen or used against me or have I ever needed to get the gun out. I live in St.Louis and sell insurance off of Riverview and Cornith.....took a picture of a building there they other day, right where 4 people were shot in a car last night. I have never seen the streets turn red with blood because I have a CnC and sometimes carry a gun. It's not the big deal you guys make it out to be.
