jtram Posted July 11, 2015 Author Posted July 11, 2015 Exactly ^^ But it seems the only guys/gals that carry are the ones that are ate up with it. I mean a dude that brought his kids to my daughters birthday party had a .45 on his hip. Gimme a break! Maybe he had heard how much you loved the PO-LICE?
bfishn Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 ...Seeing guns in public puts me at ease. Ever consider a summer vacation to Syria? I can't dance like I used to.
Members thundurchasur Posted July 11, 2015 Members Posted July 11, 2015 The thing about it is if you pull the trigger. Then it gets very complicated. You got about a 50/ 50 chance of coming out on the short end of the stick. Unless it is clearly home invasion. That is if your fast enough. And the other person does not kill you and part of your family first. I can see a lot of ways that might happen. Especially if you do not know he has a gun. But the odds do increase dramatically in our favor if we obey the laws and make wise decisions. We don't need a home invasion scenario to protect ourselves from imminent danger. Another point is that cities/states cannot outlaw open carry because it violates our 2nd Amendment rights. The problem is that they do pass legislation and if and when you get caught, they will confiscate your weapon while they do their investigation. You probably won't face charges but more than likely your weapon will be lost at some point and never returned to you. jtram 1
Old plug Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 You missed part of my point. If you shoot someone there is all kinds of legal hurdles in front of you. Things as small as what was siad alr done in the in the confortation can be the difference between free and in prison. Then if you get off for the shooting you may well be sued by someone in the family or the person you shot. In eithef case your also going to need a very good lawyer plus a real good job to pay for him.

Your going to ned a very good job ypro pay for him as well. But if he has to shoot, because his life was in danger, he will have the luxury and time to spend facing someone to explain what he did. Otherwise, he may be out alot of money for a hospital or funeral costs. And he may not have any more time. jtram 1 "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Thompson
Old plug Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 Yeah that is true he would have the time to explain it. Maybe one of these Lawyers on here can explain to tou all just involved it could become. How much do you think it is going to cost him to defend himself. ?????? I bet more than the hospital would cost. m.kilbourn 1
jtram Posted July 11, 2015 Author Posted July 11, 2015 Ill spend any amount of money to stay out of the hospital at the hands of another. That money is meaningless if you die.....
Ketchup Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 Guys, i believe he is only stating to protect himself, family, or others from immenent danger. Its called the Castle Doctrine Missouri is a castle doctrine state with a “stand-your-ground” law. The state enacted a castle law in 2007 that removed the duty to retreat for persons who are attacked within their home or vehicle. The new law justifies the use of deadly force when victims reasonably believe their lives to be in danger, and provides them immunity from civil and criminal action. jtram 1 TinBoats BassClub. MOPanfisher Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 Even a good shoot is likely to cause legal issues. However I would never not protect myself or family based on that concern. The great thing about a Constitutionally guaranteed right is that you don't have to exercise it for it to be valid. You do have to watch the political process which would happily strip all rights in the name of what's good for you.
