You only get to count the first 4 hours :)

If it was APRIL you'd have to beat 18-20# :)

Crap the weigh in is at 1 as it is. I'm cool with that though. They have burgers and drinks ready for the anglers when you get back. It's a great ran tournament.

Those aren't bass, ya goofball.

Well no but neither was yours unless they dress like brush piles at loz. I thought we were just showing screens.

If the lake ever gets low enough I'm going to take a metal detector to this spot. D85CCBF7-A366-4B79-8185-ADA7C82A3A9D_zps

I beg your pardon! Mine WAS a bass, several to be exact. Here's one of thempost-1322-0-55525800-1437713784_thumb.jp

Disclaimer: this was not from this mornings trip, it was a couple days ago.

You just don't know how to read old school stuff. :)post-1322-0-61111100-1437714081.jpg

anybody remember, or are using Navman fish finders?

I have a Fish4600

they are mostly unheard of among fresh water anglers.

the best electronics I've ever used.

i bought it from a marine store in New Zealand, had it shipped to the US

I've had it about 7 years now, and have yet to see another black/blue fish finder on someone's boat, and probably won't since they were discontinued when the technology was bought by another co. a few years ago, and then recently marketed to inshore freshwater anglers as something "new"

my latest toy is a wireless sonar fish finder that runs off an app on my smartphone/tablet using wifi

imo the days of connecting cables and other wires will soon be obsolete

I'd wait also because there are new things coming, Lowrance is introducing 3D to their Gen3 touch screens and then there's chirp for sonar and when the new models come out there is always price cuts and rebates. I myself use Lowrance units an HDS 7 Gen1 on the bow, an HDS 5 Gen1 in the console,& HDS 10 Gen2 with all of these units networked together gives me what I need in Sonar, DI, & SI on all units. I also monitor my fuel usage and fuel tank level along with water temp, outside temp on all 3 units. Could also hookup water pressure, engine temp and others by adding the sensors to the network. So bottom line it is really how much you want and/or have to spend for electronics on your boat. Of course there are naysayers out there about using electronics in their fishing and boat operations but it is nice to bring up a screen with your map and all of the other information on one screen if you want it. So whether you chose Lowrance, Humminbird, Garmin, Raymarine be your you get with each manufacture and ask questions about features offered on each unit. They all have their good points and less desirable points in their operation and future expansion. A unbiased opinion is worth it's weight in gold.....

I am curious about how to do this. How much does it cost to hook those up to read motor info? I would love to have that stuff displayed on my screen. Will a 06 Yamaha Vmax 250 have the capabilities to hook up to HDS Gen 2?

You will have to add a NMEA 2000 network to your boat and connect it to your graph and motor. Here is a thread on another forum that is discussing this very thing for a 2005 VMAX.

Here is a YouTube video that goes over the basics of adding this to a boat.

Hope that helps you out.
