Members fishingdad11 Posted July 27, 2015 Members Posted July 27, 2015 I am planning to take son '3years old ' floating n fishing from dam down . has anybody floated and or fished this stretch lately . will be using ultra-light possibly fly fishing . any info would be great .
fishinwrench Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 From Tunnel dam, down? A 3 y/o ? I wouldn't. A short stretch of the Little Niangua would be a better choice. ALLSTAR1 1
Greasy B Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 Not sure about any particular stretch but the water is high, current strong, lots of new trees down and blind corners. His father touches the Claw in spite of Kevin's warnings and breaks two legs just as a thunderstorm tears the house apart. Kevin runs away with the Claw. He becomes captain of the Greasy Bastard, a small ship carrying rubber goods between England and Burma. Michael Palin, Terry Jones, 1974
MOPanfisher Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 There is a spot over at lead mine where you can drop your stuff, drive to the take out and literally walk back to the put in. Nice little float. Though honestly don't know how to do it with a 3yo, I would say a friend with a kayak would be handy if only for the short shuttle or if you have a dead battery oe flat tire etc. Been there done that, it sucks.
Members Archery101 Posted July 30, 2015 Members Posted July 30, 2015 Fished Leadmine yesterday evening. Caught a few nice smallies. We plan on floating Leadmine to Tunnel dam this weekend. Smallies from lower access at Leadmine. MOsmallies 1

oneshot Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 Go to Walmart and buy some fish Never go to Walmart. Tilapia tastes way better. Never ate them but I'm sure Redhorse out of the water at Lead Mine is much better than any of them. oneshot
