fishinwrench Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 Is it just my area of residence or is there alot more Spiders around this Summer? Under every boat cover, inside every motor cowling, in my mailbox, on the mirrors of my truck, and hanging in ever door frame that I walk through, just waiting to pounce on me and cause immediate heart failure, are big nasty spiders. They are freaking me out and I want them to go away. I even tried praying about it but God apparently thinks it's funny. Mitch f 1
jdmidwest Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 Lots of spiders and webs. I have been knotted up in webs more than usual. "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Thompson
Old plug Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 I have not noticed anything out of normal with the spiders down here wrench. Some of the other insects have been much worse. Mostly those little red ticks. I worry more about them than spiders. They are the ones get most the blame for Lime Disease.
fishinwrench Posted July 31, 2015 Author Posted July 31, 2015 When I went out to close up the shop last night there was one so big you could hear him walking. I thought it was a ground squirrel or something, looked over and it was a big freaking spider. He ran over behind the test tank and I really don't even wanna go back out there. Terrierman Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 I'm with you on spiders. Do not like them, not at all. Same way with clowns.
snagged in outlet 3 Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 Bug A Salt. Just ordered the 2.0 version. Greatest invention ever. Beer, patio loaded with bugs and a Bug A Salt, doesn't get better than that. Pete
Old plug Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 Must have been a wolf spider. They are monsters. You might be able to keep them out of the shop by collecting some Osage Oranges and putting them around in the shop under boat covers etc. There are several trees around that screen printing place in Versailles on 52. I used to collect about 1/2 bushel for a few friends in St Louis who wanted to get rid of bugs and spiders in there basement. They all swore by them. Time is about close to start collecting them. i have used them in my own crawl sprace. They will last several months When I use them I only need about two to keep my crawl space clear.

I tried that but all the spiders carried them back to their dens and ate them.
Jason R. Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 I saw a giant wolf spider at the river the other day while trying to retrieve a snagged lure. It was so big I just broke my jig off and quickly paddled away. Sucker looked like it could jump on my face like those critters in Alien. http://flyinthesouth.com/
