If you mostly fish lakes like Table Rock, they would be a must for me. Since I mostly fish rivers, I'm pitching in heavy cover and they would get hung up too often. I gave some to my brother the other day on the Meramec, his comment was they get hung up on every cast.... He lost all of them in 30 minutes. I believe Dave used to carry 30 pounds of grubs in his boat.....are they for sale? :)

I have fished them before I knew they had a name in rivers for years. You lose a few but no worse that gitzit type baits. It does make a BIG difference if you aren't using a weedless style, or try to fish them around rip rap.

Granted, He was using those 1/15 oz ZMan heads with no weed guard. I always like heavy jig heads in the current. Not a "slow fall" kind of fisherman. I don't like the feeling of losing contact. In reality, there's no need to with the type of baits that I use. Just personal preference.

Wire guard will help with that problem. Maybe. It does take some touch in cover or big rocks.

I did not catch a fish on a grub all year, and only a handful last year. One of my fall/winter projects is a complete boat tackle re-do. Going to take out a bunch of stuff I just never use anymore, and the extra junk I used to keep for company. Ned parts not included ;) . Hard baits and swim baits are on my list for sure.

Yeah..................sure you will. I've said the same thing for the past 5 years. Take some out only to add other stuff.

Maybe this year it will happen. Boat might move a little faster also.

Will not give up yet on your varmit baits and will keep them in boat. Didn't do great with them so far this year, but did not devote much time. Good walleye on varmit though this year. Just too many other baits I like and do well with.

I was on the river two Saturdays ago with a couple of buddies. They would just not believe that thing would ever work better than a rebel craw or a big jig and craw but I wound up with 40+ one buddy had 3 and the other zero. Some people have more pride than me. When I see my buddy catch three in a row I want to know what he's using and if he has any more of them. And only ever fish ned with weed guard be it lake or river.

I'll pull my boat next to yours and you can just throw it in.
