Hi everyone. I'm in dire need to redo my boat seats. 1990 champion 184 fish and ski. Both couch seats and the 3 driving or riding seats needs new everything. It looks too complicated to make them myself, so what is the cheapest option? Buying seats or having an upholstery shop make new ones? Don't need fancy just functional. Just can't spend $1200 to do it either. Any one here like making seats? Thanks

If they are specially fitted seats your only option is to remove them and take to an upholstery shop so they can use the old frames for a stencil.

If you are in the Joplin area do not take it to the guy that runs the flip shop. He can cover them but that's about as far as it goes.

Where are you?  I've had some done in Republic by Karen Gibbs at Gibbs' upholstery.

Pleasant Hope. How was the quality Price?

The quality was as good as any I have seen.  I had her do a seat in my old farm truck last year.  She did a great job on it.  I also had a guy on Kearney Street in Spfld recover some stuff.  I can't remember the name of the place.  He was good but more expensive than Karen.

You are correct griz.  I remember it now that you have put it where I can see it.

jw you might also call LeBroc.  They may have skins for the seats that you can buy and take it back to like original nes.

For that model year, I'd call deans top and canvas in Mt. Home, Arkansas. They were the OEM for Champion for many years, and you will get the exact seats you need. It may not be the cheapest, but it would be worth a few extra dollars to have it done right.
