mic Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 Sorry... I didn't take any picks, but I had a great weekend at my two favorite ponds. Saturday morning, I was catching bass, rock bass, and large bluegill on 1/6th road runner jig with Hellgrammite jigs. I fished until I lost my last plastic. I have been using Uncle Bucks, but taking them off the hook and jigging them. Problem is they only come in packs of three. So I asked Dr. Google and found a place that sells the same mold but in larger bulk with no pre-hooked ones. I'll let you know how they fish. Sunday, I tore up the pond bass at my second place. I normally have to fish slow at this place, but the owner lowered the water three feet. So I tried an inline, and never put it back. I don't know if the morning was perfect or if the water level changed things up. Either way, I fished my way around the pond and packed up and went home. Sunday night, I went back out to the close pond to try a couple of things out. I ended up getting some more pan fish with a beetle fly behind a casting bubble and a couple of bass on the old purple worm. Johnsfolly and ness 2
Amery Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 Why not fish the Beatle fly on a flyrod? Pan fish are perfect for learning how.
ness Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 I can still remember the days when I used to fish. Ahhh. Flysmallie and BilletHead 2 John
BilletHead Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 You are still fishing Ness. Just not for the quarry that has fins :). ness 1 "We have met the enemy and it is us", Pogo If you compete with your fellow anglers, you become their competitor, If you help them you become their friend" Lefty Kreh " Never display your knowledge, you only share it" Lefty Kreh "Eat more bass and there will be more room for walleye to grow!" mic Posted September 29, 2015 Author Posted September 29, 2015 Normally I would, but I was playing around with the casting bubble. However it is nice when you can cast a fly 30 yards. I'm not good enough to do that with a fly rod. Flysmallie 1
