abkeenan Posted October 23, 2015 Posted October 23, 2015 I know Charlie Campbell is a top water legend and all but I am sorry I just don't believe gold hooks had any kind of impact on the amount or size of fish he caught. I would bet his success has more to do with him spending a lifetime fishing and perfecting his craft (top water) rather than the particular color lure he was throwing. magicwormman 1
Members Wesley Posted October 23, 2015 Members Posted October 23, 2015 color does not matter as was already said, the fish cannot see the top of the lure. They only paint them pretty so we buy them. abkeenan 1
Champ188 Posted October 23, 2015 Posted October 23, 2015 Plug nailed it ... if it matters to the guy throwing it, it matters. All of us fish better when we believe in what we're throwing. As for what the fish think, no one can say definitively either way because none of us have ever talked to one. Hughesy, big c and balsabee 3
balsabee Posted October 23, 2015 Posted October 23, 2015 I've caught a lot more fish out of a white bottom boat than a black one....Lol Quillback 1

A freshwater chum trail. Interesting. You may be onto something here Quill. That could also be Alex's secret to catching all those pig Table Rock sharks the last few years. Champ188 and Chunk Rock 2
Old plug Posted October 23, 2015 Posted October 23, 2015 Well since we're on to scent. I do not believe there is anything ever made that can match the real thing. Only sent type thing I use Is crappie candy. As much as I hate to admit it the stuff does work. But as far as the scent goes it smells more like something familiar. If you get my drift.
176champion Posted October 23, 2015 Posted October 23, 2015 Going thru one of my old tackle boxes i found a 25 year old bottle of crawdad sent..im afraid to open it... I know everything about nothing and know nothing about everything! Bruce Philips

Tell the truth now, you've never talked to a fish?? Now having one respond is another matter. "Water is the driving force of all Nature." -Leonardo da Vinci
