I am learning to catch walleye on this lake, but I also got in to a bunch of spotted bass. This link only shows 1/2 of the bass I caught, it was some fast action for a while. 27 FOW.

Excellent results on the walleye!  Much more consistent luck than what ive had when i targeted them there.  I did quite well this summer with the jigging spoon but only caught spots, no walleye.  I love to see great results with the jigging spoon, i think they are a bit under rated.

Would you mind sharing how your fishing the spoon?  WHen i was there (dead of summer) we were catching them right off the bottom, it was almost as if they were eating the spoon as it layed on the bottom.  The only walleye i could muster up came trolling cranks, and we only caught 2.

My suggestion would be to fish for bass and forget the walleye. They are too "few and far between" to keep you interested in my opinion. Even RPS who is about as knowledgeable as anyone on Table Rock chasing the Walter's has had "good days" that yield only a few fish in several hours. I would say have fun with the bass that are more cooperative and after you get off the water head off to Branson and get some fried Walleye from the White River Fish House.

Well this is my walleye year, so I guess that is my objective. I fished similarly (vertically jigging) to what you spoke of and yes they were on the bottom. The bass were a byproduct of my walleye fishing, the spoon had to fall through them to get in the walleye zone. I hope that helps. 

A week before a friend and I caught 5 and 2 keepers in 1 1/2 hours on bottom bouncers. There does seem to be a location combination - i.e. rocks trees etc.. They are very localized. I am still looking for the big one and having a great time doing it !

Keep at them! If you are catching walleye, but they are just a touch small, look for the break or change point on your spots. If your spot is a change point i.e. a change from gravel to rock or a treeline, then look for the little change on it like a boulder or a stellar stump or a hump or dip. The larger walleye will hang there with a kind of pride of place.
