Champ188 Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 I'd much rather have whitecaps than no wind. Tie on a 3/8-ounce War Eagle spinnerbait (spot remover color works great up the James), get on a windy 30-45 degree bank with big rock and throw it til the cows come home. A Bandit 200 crank bait in a crawfish pattern will work too.
Hammer time Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 Your favorite mid- deep diving crankbait both crawdad and shad colors, spinnerbaits and mostly football jig football jig football jig. Champ188 1

m&m Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 Champ188 & Hammer, I already tied on the jig, crank bait and spinner bait yesterday in preparation for Wednesday. If anyone sees us up there I will be the one with a left arm about 3" longer than the right arm from all the casting I will be doing. Mike Hammer time, Fish24/7, 176champion and 2 others 5

Probably caught 40 fish yesterday. i use a wart more in the fall than any other time of the year. I had a few old one's and i repainted them MO craw just for fall fishing. Champ188 1
Sore Thumbs Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 If wind is dead try shakey head,Ned or drop shot. Also try lay downs in stained water.

The water temp was 57 around Eagle Rock before this last big cold front so I would expect it to be lower 50s by now. I didn't see any mention of a crank bait (Wart or something similar), for which the time is getting right. One other thing ... don't let the clouds and wind trick you into throwing a SB too long. If you throw it for a couple hours with marginal results, be sure and pick up a jig or a Ned and see if they seem to be feeding down. They're famous on this lake for doing that on dark days when conventional wisdom says they should be looking up. I'm going Wednesday. Let's compare notes afterward. Didn't get out until 11 am due to a business deal taking a little longer than expected. threw WP a bit, no takers. found a windy bank I like and tried WW and SB, with no luck. came around the bend, and hit a calm bank with Ned, and caught several smallies, including 2 decent ones. Wind on the main lake was whipping! tried several other spots with a few here and there, but no more keeps.
Champ188 Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 I got a late start due to errands in Rogers and decided to just go to Beaver. Ended up having a pretty good day there (SB and CB) with 26 fish total and a fair number of keepers. Ham and big c 2
Sore Thumbs Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 It's the best Beaver has fished in a long time Champ. Good job Champ188 1
