I hit it hard today and ended with 8 keepers and several close shorts.  I tried a bunch of stuff but nothing seems to get the bites as well as a lipless crank.  The noise and vibration gets them following it, then when I pause and let it drop that's when one hammers it.     I really thought they were getting tired of seeing the dang thing....but apparently not.  I alternated between 3 different colors and 1/4 and 1/2oz. baits and they stayed with it all afternoon even under bluebird sky's.

Water is starting to clear up pretty quick now and I bet they are gonna bail out of the area soon.  I might get one more day out of them.   Maybe it'll rain on turkey day and muddy back up again. :)

how about nose rigging those flukes on a circle hook ? let the hook and the fish do the work for you, just keep a tight line and reel after the slam . plan b use a bite indicator like you would when fly fishing, doesn't add weight, easy to see and rig .

try something just a little different, a metal blade bait .

use a spoon , change out the treble for a single siwash hook and rig a twister tail on the hook .

wacky rig a Berkley heavy weight worm on a circle hook, let the hook work for you.

rig a jig/plastic on a dropper line on a top water or wake bait .

small split shot in front of a rapala jointed minnow

swimbait or swim jig

what a long strange trip it's been , put a dip in your hip, a glide in your stride and come on to the mother ship , the learning never ends

The water cleared up, they dropped the lake a foot, and they (bass) are gone from there now. I had fun while it lasted.   If they show up there again in the future, which I'm sure they will, I'll try more of these suggestions. Thanks.

It doesn't look like it . I have a bait shop about 45 minutes north of me that had some the last time I was in there .

not surprised every Berkley product I really like gets discontinued, the old power pulse worm is another they did away with .

another lure that i'll be looking for in any bait shop I wander in to .

Norm, I can make those heavyweight worms I'm pretty sure.

Spro McStick makes a shallow running jerkbait 1-3 feet. I use Spro trout fishing on the White. Great baits that run true. Easy to cast and retrieve. I heart them truly.
