Lifes2Short Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 http://www.scout.com/outdoors/wired2fish/story/1617754-potential-world-record-spotted-bass-caught How would you like to look down and find this baby on the end of your line.......YIKES! Now this would be a Tight Line! :-) Ham 1
Ham Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 Not really the same genetics that are swimming in TR, but still. What a fish. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted December 1, 2015 Root Admin Posted December 1, 2015 Lake "X" - that's funny. I should start a new forum and call it "Lake X" Ham and Lifes2Short 2

Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted December 1, 2015 Root Admin Posted December 1, 2015 Other Waters... I like X better
Walcrabass Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 Ham, You are exactly correct and have made a good point. A hog is not a hog is not a hog even though they may be the same breed such as Hampshire etc. It is also their lineage that makes them what they are. Glad to know others understand this genetics stuff. There are other states in the South that regularly catch 5 pound Kentuckies from what I have seen on TV. Also not the same Kentucky we have here. Ham Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 They stocked Cali with Alabama strain Spots and fed em up on Rainbows. It's a giant fish, but no way that a TR or BSL or Beaver Spot can EVER get that big. Not Hatin' just sayin'. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
Gavin Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 Just a guess, but thinking Lake Perris. Its known for huge rainbow fed spotted bass.
Johnsfolly Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 Throw in a couple hundred or thousand triploid fish and feed them up with high fat forage you should be able make some giant spots. Of course then everyone can catch 6-10 lb spots and they would no longer be special trophy fish.

If you caught 100 of them, each fish would still bring a smile to your face. dtrs5kprs 1 Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
