I keep a top 10 list in my head of things a fisherman should never say. That one has to be no lower than number 2. Others include: "They HAVE to bite today. Everything's perfect!" "Don't worry. That storm's going around us." "Fog, schmog ... I know where I'm going." "Aw, that's just heat lightning." (for night fishermen) Quillback and 176champion 2

Chicks drawn to a boat would be way down the list for ol' ness So, I'm gonna like your post, and go find another to put you over 1,000. You're welcome. 176champion and Champ188 2 John

You're welcome. I'm with you ness. Rather than be drawn to the glitter, my chick helps me buy (and pay for) our boat, along with all of the fishing gear in it; goes fishing with me in weather ranging from 20 to 100 degrees and often catches as many or more than me; runs the trolling motor at times; drives the boat off the trailer in the morning and backs the trailer down in the afternoon; and helps me wipe down the boat before we head home. Yeah, I think I'll keep the one I've got. merc1997 Bo, 176champion, big c and 1 other 4

Never thought I'd say this being a MG man from back in the 1970s days of the old white Brutes with the little orange arrow on top, but I have two words for ya buddy ... Minn Kota. denjac 1

Minn Kota. Best thing about those brutes that I found was you could turn it with that little orange arrow when the steering cable broke. I had plenty of experience doing this. Finally bought an omc troller to replace it . Had another motor guide on 95 model boat for about 6 months, found out motor guide trollers don't like me. Champ188 1

I was fishing a tournament on the Arkansas River at Little Rock one day when my steering cable broke on an old Brute. I turned it for awhile with the little orange arrow until it stripped out, then I clamped a pair of vice grips onto the little shaft coming out the top and finished the day like that. Where there's a will, there's a way. LOL
