Well, the new format went well, with a couple hiccups.  Some of the guys didn't understand they were to measure ALL trout caught, browns, rainbows, slot rainbows in the trophy area and short browns.  All Trout scored.

Rounded up to the half-inch.  Started at 8 am with 14 anglers.  Ended at 4 pm.

Shawn Pingleton of Branson took first place with 46 trout measuring 584.5 inches (12.7 inch average)

Josh Bills came in 2nd place with 32 trout measuring 403 inches (12.6 inch average)

Toby Duff took 3rd place with 25 trout measuring 302 inches (12.1 inch average)

Most, if not all trout were caught on jigs.  Shawn had a 17 inch rainbows for longest trout.

Thanks again for setting all of this up for us Phil.  Had a great time today, and weather wise couldn't have asked for a better day on the lake.

Thanks Phil,

First time on Taneycomo and I had a blast.  The fishing was great, and the tourney was a lot of fun.  Can't wait to do more!

I know those micro jigs catch tons of fish, but I can't help thinking a jerk bait would up the 12.6" average. Am I wrong?

I guess when there isn't a limit it wouldn't matter much. I think by having some type of limit it would be easier to manage as well.
