I hope that I didn't suggest or insinuate that anyone wasn't very smart. That was certainly not my intention.

My "system" such as it is on setting my Lew's reels is to have two of the four centrifugal brakes pulled out (engaged) and two pushed in. I set the mag adjustment to about 3. From there, I use the spool tension knob on the right side of the reel to get my spool adjusted to where I can throw as far as I need but not so loose that it wants to backlash every cast.

For a moment there I thought your were talking about me in your earlier post.

Amen. Might as well fish with a big white Zebco catfish rod. I don't even like the glare off light colored thread wraps.

Hey now! I own a Duckett Ghost and happen to really like the rod. The white doesn't bother me. I have the 7'3" MH and love the taper, action and everything else about the rod. I think it's one of the best $100 rods on the market.

Somebody must be buying them or they'd stop making them.  Thanks for keeping it going

Do you realize how shitty of a blank you could build rods on if you could paint them and still sell them ?     I could build you a sweet rod on a crappy 20.00 blank, paint it white and you'd never know it. :) You'd pay 347.99 for it and tell everyone how awesomely sensitive and powerful it was, and all the while you're fishing with an old Ugly Stick blank painted white with some decent guides on it.

They feel great. Just makes me feel like I should be sitting on a cooler in a john boat jerking a snagging hook. A bridge too far for me.

I took up Champs suggestion last year and purchased the Duckett rod for my spinning rod and am very pleased with it, I paired it with the Lews tournament pro and must say it is a very nice combo,

I bought two lews reels a few years ago and I like em.   I can cast a pretty small bait a good long ways.  Like others I don't understand all the brakes and such.  I turn everything to zero/off and just use my thumb.  I do backlash but not too often anymore.

We have half a dozen of the Duckett Micro Magics from 6-6 to 7-10 and I love 'em. I can see where some might not care for the white finish but it doesn't bother me.

Well fishing with a 6'6" light action fairy wand set up throwing a 2.5" do nothing bait makes me feels like I should just use a bobber, 1/4" piece of nightcrawler and Mickey Mouse pole while fishing in a dock slip. There I said it.

I feel the same way...one brown fish at a time!
