I'm sure it will get better with practice, but it was hard to get the wire, versus thread down the hook. I think it is because it is less flexible. Hope the fish don't mind... Lol ?

Eric82 Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 on the killer bug how much are you twisting, if any, the yarn before you wrap it?
Ham Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 I've read where some folks untwist the yarn and wrap the two parallel strands in as one rather then the one tightly twisted strand. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish

Members jackdizo Posted January 10, 2016 Members Posted January 10, 2016 @mic Love the pheasant tail Mic, might have to try my hand at one of those with the copper wire sub on thread... I have so much confidence in that fly on just about any body of water. Nice work, fly looks great, any idea what the sink rate is like with that fly with only using the copper wire and no lead or tungsten / brass bead? Thanks for sharing!

These are mainly for Blue Springs Creek so I try to keep them lighter than river flies. Can't wait to find out. Ron told me that he used to tie these and they were not durable. So use super glue.
