You guys really pay 60.00 +  for a single bait to catch a fish you won't eat?  When I win the Powerball tonight I wouldn't do that.  I did pay a lot of money for pike minnows though. Couple bucks a piece but they lasted for weeks if they don't get too chewed up.

at some point, when there are no longer jobs here in the U.S., and everyone is broke, i guess it will not make any difference if everything is from china, as no one will have any money to buy it, no matter how cheap it is.

just my humble opinion.

All my Chinese connections tell me that the best of the Chinese engineers are working for the American companies. The conventional wisdom in China is that if you want a quality product, you either buy from the USA or Germany. I think with the use of smart technology we can stem the tide on this topic.

Would love to think we could fix things with our purchasing, but it won't happen. Not without old fashioned union busting and serious (and unlikely) changes at every level of government. Taxes, governmental interference and over management, and organized labor drove the manufacturing jobs offshore, pretty much permanently.

Our little jigs are made in the US, but I don't consider that a selling point. Just something that worked out.

If it runs right, catches fish, and increases the fun factor, then yes, absolutely. Won't be buying very many though.

yep, i do hear you about the situation with labor prices and unions, taxes, and government.  it is hard to get the incentive to try to create something when the government is going to make more money than you.  kind of makes one want to tell washington "if your so f******* smart, you create it and produce it, and tax yourself".  but, in other ways, consumers themselves have brought some of this on also.  when they keep wanting cheaper, most often that is the only way to produce it cheaper, and that is unfortunately to go off shore, and that same person that wanted cheaper no longer has a job.  lots of people at some point need to learn to quit biting the hand that is trying to feed them.

Bo, I understand that you make an American Made (and local to us here on OA's) product and you are proud of that and you SHOULD be. It's a dang fine product and I AM one of your customers (as is my brother). Love my/our NuTechs. But at the same time the American worker got lazy, wanted higher pay for less work/efficiency/production which has led to the outsourcing of labor and manufacturing to other counties that will do it for less and are happy to have the work (ie China, Mexico, Vietnam, etc). Is the product as quality as one that is made here in the States? Sometimes yes, often times no. Who is to blame? Ourselves. Unions for one but I am not intending to stir up that hornets nest of a topic. Unions were created out of necessity to protect the worker and over time corrupted by greed to where they have had detrimental impacts on labor force, costs and the overall landscape of our economy not only nationally but on a global level. As so many things do, something that was created for the good and betterment of all has been used and abused to the end resulting in unintended negative consequences that is has been transpiring for decades or if not generations at this point. That is as far as I am going to go into that but one thing for sure is that those jobs aren't coming back anytime soon. As long as you keep making those NuTech's I will be buying....even if you do shift production to China and only charge $1.75 a jig while turning a higher profit margin than you do now!

Just read this after getting off my soap box. Your condensed version is much more readable than mine. Just like the Ned....should have kept it simple. ;)

None of yours was wrong. It is a multifaceted problem with no realistic solution. I despise the saying "it is what it is", especially when I hear it spouted by coaches and players to explain failure. Once in a while it is actually correct though.

One of the worst quotes, cliché, abominations that has unfortunately stuck in pop culture and especially in sports. The only thing I hate more than the phrase "It is what it is" uttered at post game interviews is the halftime on the field reporter with the interviews with head coaches as they run to the locker room. So painfully generic offering zero insight to even a person that has never watched the sport nor knows a single rule to the game at that point.

Airhead blonde reporter: "Coach, your defense gave up 35 points that half and looked like they couldn't stop the passing attack from Ozark Angler State. What adjustments do you and your team plan to make in the locker room and in the 2nd half to stop their offense".

Coaches response: "Well... we aren't playing well on defense. We have to stop them from scoring and play better". End of interview.

Me at home: face palm wanting to end my interview of life. Drives me crazy.
