Guest Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 I'm looking to upgrade this year. What would you buy if you had it to do over? 100mph suit, cabelas guide gear, Simms, Huk gear, Stormr? I need flexibility & warmth. Fishing in monsoons is required.
WeekendWarrior Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 Cold, weather rain gear and wind break for me 100 mph rain gear with under armor base and fleece-lined blue jeans and I am pretty toasty. Now if I could just find something for the hands ? Mitch f 1
gitnby Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 Try the under armour infrared gloves https://www.underarmour.com/en-us/ua-core-cgi-mens/pid1249432-006 and then wear the fingerless wool gloves over them. Best thing I've tried.
m&m Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 I wear under armor cold gear as a base and the BPS gortex outer layer rain suit. Wool socks keep my feet warm and the neoprene gloves keep my hands warm. I also wear a balaclava around my neck and pull up the hood and put on the Save Phace mask when I'm running. The in between layers vary in case it gets warmer or colder. This has worked to keep me comfortable. Mike Mitch f 1
96 CHAMP Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 I purchased cabelas ECWCS base layer a couple years ago for deer season, combine that with cabelas Tourney trail 4-most dry plus parka and bibs and I am good to go, I see it is on sale now at half price, same time of year when I purchased mine

gitnby Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 you will like them! The only issue I've had is the line can stick to the index finger a little when using a spinning outfit. Been thinking about maybe dipping the right index finger of the glove in some plasti-dip to keep the little ribs on the glove from catching the line?
Rodmaker Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 Check into the Frabill line of rain gear. I purchased a coat and bibs last summer for an Alaska trip. Super dry ( we had tons of rain ). They make styles F1 through F4 depending on your warmth requirements. I highly recommend their gear. Also, check into the BUFF line of gloves, also a super product. Lots of styles, fingered and fingerless.
dtrs5kprs Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 I've had a set of Pro Qualifier XPS for close to 10 years. Just bought a replacement pair of bibs. They have been very good, and have leg zippers that go all the way up. Makes it super easy to put them on when wearing gore tex boots. The newest version is a heavier material, similar to the 100mph outer fabric. I use them well into summer, and for football. Got lucky and found a pair on clearance last week. Before that I was doing the same what to buy dance. Had narrowed it down to Cabela's or Huk. Both were on sale. Mitch f 1
Champ188 Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 Donna and I have had Cabela's Guidewear for several years. We're known for fishing in some nasty weather, so we've put it to the test and have been very satisfied. Ham 1
