How do you spend $60 for a Magnum Wart, you can still get the originals (pre-Rapala) pretty cheap on Ebay compared to a regular pre-Rapala WW. All I can think is that it must have been one heckuva custom paint job, as you can get a custom paint job for a lot less than $60. I'm not buying this story. I think it is a regular wart. I'm not buying cranking that color water with those skies and no rollers.
Quillback Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 On 2nd look I have to agree that it is a regular WW. There was a pop up at the beginning that mentioned Mag wart, I saw it and my brain somehow thought it said he was using a Mag Wart. Still don't see how it could cost $60 unless that color is a standard color and he bought it new in package. in an Ebay tussle.
dtrs5kprs Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 It looks like one from a couple of particular painters that are sometimes on eBay. It took a good shot, but might have been a chrome bait that had a lot of stripping/sanding done.
dtrs5kprs Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 On the $60, maybe $40 for the bait, $20 for the paint. Seems realistic, depending on when he bought it.
MOsmallies Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 Luckily I've never paid more than $12 for a pre-rap wart... Never paid more than $10 for a custom paint job (Baitwerks)... And the hardware I put on them is maybe $2.50. So my most expensive wart is less than $25.. It definitely blows to lose one but I put that kind of money into them because I have confidence when I throw them and well... I'm a bait whore! dtrs5kprs, Mitch f, magicwormman and 1 other 4

If you look it was 100% custom painted. That is not a stock color scheme. I can only imagine he paid 20-30 bucks for the Pre Rap, then another $20 for the paint and another $10 in hardware upgrades???? Or he just bought it for $60 bucks after someone else did all the upgrades and paid into that persons profit. Either way it's pretty hard to spend $60 bucks customizing a Pre Rap wart blank. Warts that go for that kind of money are either the Nat and Phantom Craw original's or the more rare colors that aren't going to be thrown for the most part.
