Hybrid might be off on their diameter or poundage, I don't have a clue. Don't really care. The stuff is amazing. If it was truly the diameter of 12lb, it wouldn't cast so well. So you can't go comparing hybrid to FC.

Hybrid does not work as well as limp mono on a spin caster when you are on the river in 10-20 degree weather. Neither does braid. Tends to freeze to the spool.

Well there's an easy answer for that problem too...

Fishing in that weather is full on beast mode.

That's just crazy! I have literally caught 1000's of fish on 6 lb Nanofil and I have never broken off a fish where the Nano failed. Never. Not once. It will happen eventually, but clearly not an issue for me.

I primarily use P Line CX Premium for my leader. I bought Seaguar Red Label specifically to be leader material. I went back to P Line after numerous mystery break offs with the Red Label.

Red Label sucks.  I stopped using it and it does not have good line memory.  I used it often for a while but once I went to CX and InvisX I noticed a lot of difference.

Red Label is bad to the bone in 20lb. The lower poundage is garbage. The heavy stuff is superb at pitching jigs in thick cover. I use the red label 20lb on square bills, spoons, football heads & Biffle bugs. Anything less than 20 is asking for trouble. Who knows why, but it works for me.

I like Nanofil because Ham tells me to.

I like FC because Dave tells me to.

I like Maxima because I've used it since Heck was a Pup.

I hate Nanofil because leader.

I hate FC because knots.

Sorry, I'm a klutz and am knot impaired.

I've tried to hate Maxima but just can't.

I use them all now and then.

I'm not joking about why I like Nano and FC, those guys are both amazing.  Very fortunate to be able to learn from them now and again.

That is strange.  I used Red Label on everything for a while because it was reasonably inexpensive.  But the line memory is terrible.  It feels like it gets dry and course feeling.  That's why I like PLine CX because it feels buttery soft when first spooled and stays that way for quite a while.

A micro spinning reel will test the line memory of ANY line and will curl up any line eventually.  But I do like those little reels for finesse fishing and crappie fishing.  Compact and comfortable.
