For the waters that I fish regularly, I have my agents cell number programmed in my phone. And I have used it. When you establish a relationship with your local agent, you gain credibility and respect. So that when you do have to make that call they will respond. I have found that it works much better than the tactics that have been displayed here and other threads by certain individuals. Agree with this one. The local agent helped me get in touch with some private land owners he knew and managed to get me better river access. Mind you this sort of relationship was built up over the year just speaking with him after seeing him a few times around big river and mineral fork. Hopefully speaking to him like i have will help stop some of the excessive taking of fish on mineral fork.
MOPanfisher Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 Excellent! I have numbers for the agents in 3 counties, partly because we work with them some, and from Hunter Ed. Classes. It makes a difference from reporting it through Game Thief or calling Tim who knows you and hearing your version what was happening, and knowing from the description of the vehicle who it was, and be waiting at their house when they pull in.

Instead of slamming them on an open forum why not do it to their face? Why do you fix their boat if you know they're going to go and gig bass? Obviously you do not enjoy the smallmouth more than you do the money. Me refusing to work on their boats/motors isn't going to keep them from doing what they do. Now is it? And I have said things to their face. Told a group of bowfishers that if I started seeing stuck bass out here on the flat that we were gonna have trouble. Hog Wally 1

Not working on their boat would be taking a stand. But what the hell, they're going to do it anyway, so just go ahead and help them out. How about reading them the riot act while they are standing in your garage? You said you know them and work on their boats. I'm at least on your side that I hate all poaching. But you give me more trouble than you do your friends that are killing your bass! bfishn Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 Zingo! idea for a new thread. it would be a fundraiser of sorts. Who wants to chip in for a room and show tickets to Yakof Smirnoff for Wrench and Chief? I'm in for $20 I originally thought Dolly Parton, but you Yakovs need some new material. I can't dance like I used to.

Bullwhips, twenty footers. With their left legs tied to posts 20 feet apart so nobody runs. Then we'll know for sure who cares the most about their fish.

Terrierman Posted February 26, 2016 Posted February 26, 2016 I guess the bullwhips suggestion isn't gaining much traction.
