I took a personal day from school today, my first since October 2014.

I fished up river from Beaver throwing a Ned, a white twin spin, and Berkley's new Wild Thang.

Two fish in five hours, both on the crank bait, with one keeper.

Water temp 48 - 49.

rps, thank you for the report.  I think I will put in at Eagle Rock tomorrow and head towards Big M.  Hopefully I can post a positive report.  I'm really going there to run my boat as I pick it up from Ulrich in the morning.  They were repairing my live well pumps and some other misc. stuff.  Nice picture and your bait looks huge! lol

RPS, what did you think about the wild thang?

It has promise. Lots of tail waggle and it veers off course. I found it to need a slow retrieve to avoid prolonged kickouts. It did bounce off wood well without hanging.

However, I only fished the one bait and do not know what percent will run better and what percent will run worse.

The colors are good. The hooks were sharp, but again, two fish do not give a good test.

Reports are starting to roll in about some pretty nice walleye catches coming between the Arkansas line and Beaver Town.  My best source is the fishing guide barber at Eureka Springs.  Got both my hairs chopped day before yesterday and he said they were starting.  Every one he had heard about came on a flicker shad trolled in that area,

Said he knew for sure two different guys caught them, one with a limit and the other with two very nice fish up to 6 pounds.
