Bigmo Posted March 3, 2016 Posted March 3, 2016 I started with a shakey head this morning on bluffs with no wind around 10 with no luck. Decided to throw the table rock shad jerk bait for a 100 yd. stretch and caught 2 kentuckies with the one in the pic going a good 2 lbs. Switched over to a norman crank and caught a couple more. Exactly at 12:59 I thought what the heck and threw a war eagle 1/2 oz. mouse color spinner sitting in 20 to 25 fow. on 45 degree banks. I boated 21 largemouth and kentuckies. I would guess at least 10 knocked the heck out of the spinner I never saw. Throwing up on the bank and slow rolling back to the boat worked best for me. Most bites were in the 10 to 15 ft. range. The spinner bite quit around 2:30. The wind begin to gust and after hitting a couple windblown points and a couple banks I finished with a little over fish. Half of the spinner bites were right at 15 and the rest 13 to 14 inch males. Water temp was 50.8 when I quit around 4. merc1997 Bo, magicwormman, mixermarkb and 2 others 5
Quillback Posted March 3, 2016 Posted March 3, 2016 Man, you may have found the secret. Good on you for figuring out that they wanted the blade.
Bill Babler Posted March 3, 2016 Posted March 3, 2016 Like I said Quill, someone somewhere is catching them. Always happens. Nice day on the blade. I don't think I have one in the boat. I will tomorrow. 25 bass to the boat today is beyond great. http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
dtrs5kprs Posted March 3, 2016 Posted March 3, 2016 Nice report. Always fun when you hit the window right with the blade. Sort of makes me wonder if the swim grub bite is close.
Bigmo Posted March 3, 2016 Author Posted March 3, 2016 I didn't mention that I threw a salt and pepper grub with no luck in the middle of the spinner bite. I did catch 3 on a red strike king squarebill in the same area. Overall close to 30 total. dtrs5kprs 1

m&m Posted March 3, 2016 Posted March 3, 2016 Bigmo, sounds like a great recovery with that SB bite. Nice pictures. Thanks for the report. Mike
willyfish Posted March 3, 2016 Posted March 3, 2016 I thought a spinnerbug might be worth a shot. It gives them a chance to see it and feel it coming in the muddy water.
