Bigmo Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 I started around 11 with not a breath of air on the water and a light sprinkle. Not a good day to throw a spinner. For 2 hours until 1:02 I didn't catch a fish. The first largemouth came on the war eagle spinner on a main lake outside bend. The last Kentucky came off a point on the end of a small cutout at 3:30. I had a total of 11 all on the spinner. The northwest wind didn't help any once it started blowing around 20mph. Water temp was 50.4 when I quit so it didn't raise much from yesterday. Water was a green tint with 3 to 4 ft. of visibility. All fish hit the spinner just about halfway to the boat as I was sitting in 20 to 25 fow. I was slow slow rolling the spinner so i'm guessing I was about 4 to 6 ft down in the water. Dewayne French, Champ188, Muddy Water and 3 others 6
Dutch Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 That is a good report. I haven't found water that warm yet. I'm planning to launch at Campbell Pt. in the morning and fish some of the creeks. I doubt I get to Kings but it is possible.
Bill Babler Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 Dutch, I would rethink that. The ramp there is completely flat at this level, If you don't have a pard, you are going to get your tootsies wet. Drive down to Big Creek, the ramp there is so much better. http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
Bigmo Posted March 4, 2016 Author Posted March 4, 2016 The south southwest wind yesterday was the big difference. It was also cloudy most of the day. When the sun came out I had more bites.
m&m Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 Bigmo, thank you for the report. great pictures. gotta love that spinner bait bite. Mike
Bill Babler Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 Big, you painted a picture for us that maybe even I could follow. That is one information fun filled, action packed report. Thanks for the lake picture. Just about as nice of a contribution as your going to get on any board. Boys and Girls you find current lake information anywhere other than here with that type of detail and you have found something to follow. Again, thanks a bunch, that was just swell. Good Luck Had to come back and edit my post. Really read this report. There is more information in this than the law permits, especially after his report yesterday. This man is telling you everything about how to catch the fish that he found and just durn near where to throw to catch them. I'm telling you, I have written close to 4000 blogs and read 10 times that amount and cannot remember more information in such a concise manner. We all owe him a big thanks and I'll be the first to throw out my hand. Thanks Bigmo! Dewayne French, Quillback, 176champion and 1 other 4 http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
Bigmo Posted March 4, 2016 Author Posted March 4, 2016 Bill, thanks for the kind words. I hope with my posts somebody can catch a few more this time of the year. You , Merc, Champ, Quillback and others have made it easier for me to catch fish on days when it's tough by your posts. This is a great forum when everyone gets involved and share their days. tho1mas, abkeenan and Quillback 3
Champ188 Posted March 5, 2016 Posted March 5, 2016 I'll echo Bill's words, Bigmo. Great day and great report! Love, love, LOVE it when the spring blade bite starts. Seems like it's here a little early this year --- going by water temp, not the month or week --- but hey, that suits me just fine. CPR, folks.
