Hammer time Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 Started at 9am hitting swings and transition banks with wart and hot n tot, lots of action mostly spots banging the bottom. I use 8 lb test to get the bait deeper and spinning reel on7'6" medium action rod. Phantom red wart and red craw hot n tot. Caught 14 with 2 keeps both on hot n tot. Fished up to deer bluff. Changed to 3/4 oz fb jig on flats next to channel and caught 4 2 keeper blacks and two short spots. Then the rain came big time, took shelter in a slip and waited out storm for over hour then loaded up. Water temp 48.9-54.6 Tight lines and CPR Muddy Water, dtrs5kprs, rps and 3 others 6
m&m Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 Hammer, thanks for the report. Nice water color in that picture. Hot n tot is a lure you don't hear mych about. An oldie but a goodie. Mike
dtrs5kprs Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 Neat. Herringbone yellow hot n tot was the first crankbait I ever caught a bass on.
Bigmo Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 Hammer time I'm sure I saw you or passed you this morning. I was in the silver flake triton.
Pepe Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 I have heard Deer Bluff referenced for years but don't know where it is. Don't see it on the map.
mjk86 Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 I'm surprised more guys don't throw hot n tots in craw colors just like wiggle warts. Seems like something fish don't see a lot of. Nice report!
Hammer time Posted March 9, 2016 Author Posted March 9, 2016 Up the river from sweet water lake makes a big right turn bluff on the right has a white statue of a deer up high on bluff made of rock. Pepe and Muddy Water 2
Bill Babler Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 As soon as you make the bend past the ski course on the right above Sweet Water, you will pass a group of houses and I believe a couple of docks on your right. It is that bluff bank on the right. Used to have a concrete deer stature on it. Between Hammer and Bigmo, I'm going to open a restaurant at Royal Point right on the beach. I'm sure I will make a million. You all are just hammering them no pun intended up there. http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com

They need a window that you can boat up to, order a burger and fries, and get back to fishing. terryj1024, Muddy Water, Hammer time and 1 other 4
