MOPanfisher Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 It was truly jack weather this evening. Windy, rainy but not cold. Couldn't stand it. Came home from work, changed clothes, grabbed a couple rods, kissed wife and headed to a secret location on Stockton. Fished for an hour in the rain and wind throwing a rogue, nothing. Switched to a jig I could throw a little further and promptly caught one of Walcrabass's Kentuckies about 12 inches long. Watched a guy about 50 yards away catch at least 4 wallys. Finally got a whack and reeled in a keeper, then 3 more in about 15 minutes. Certainly nothing of any real size, but all big enough to earn a hot oil bath. 3 males and 1 female, she wasn't spawn ready yet. I am not a very good walleye fisherman but even a blind sow finds an acorn occasionally. BilletHead, LOGROG, tho1mas and 7 others 10
slab slinger Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 Sounds like a quick trip with plenty of action. Congrats on your hard earned eyes. Thanks for report.
luckycraft Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 4 walleye in 1 hour = better walleye fisherman than most trythisonemv 1
bfishn Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 Dang! That's a big knife! I can't dance like I used to.
DADAKOTA Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 I'm jealous. Nothing better than some eyes for the pan
Walcrabass Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 Mopanfisher, Very glad to see you caught some Walleye for dinner. They really are delicious !!!! I truly hope you set the hook hard enough on the Kentucky to cause it to have a fatal Heart attack. As you probably know at 12" it has probably spawned at least 3 times spreading it's "little" genes all over the lake. Wally MOPanfisher 1
Members audiochem Posted March 9, 2016 Members Posted March 9, 2016 I have that exact same knife. I've been using electric for 20 years and will never go back. I've tried cordless too, but battery life, over-heating, and weight are issues. Corded is still the best.
