Well if that's a Mitchell 308 and a Garcia rod, hard to tell by the damage, I lost it last summer. Only I lost it near cedar grove so I don't know how it would have made its way up there... But hey if it is mine Tad can have the reel and i'll finish stripping down the rod n rebuild it...

You absolutely right. Also inspecting the pics more the reel seat doesn't match up. Oh well would have been a helluva story to tell...

That's my rod, Tad is my cousin and signed it for me as a birthday present. I lost it in the park about thirty-five years ago while fighting a monster 'bow' in the Lodge hole. He was draggin me down stream and I swallowed some water and when I coughed I dropped the rod. I swam after the big boy but he was too fast for me.

Its been there a while.  Or some local lost it last week bait fishing for lunkers.

Could have been Erics.  He must have hooked a stocker and it swam upstream towards the hatchery with it.

I wish!!! i lost the spinning rod and an old phillipson master fly rod due to a dumb kayak "incident".  We went floating last June after those big rains and the river was closed the day before.  Learned two important lessons... 1. Don't go floating if you are thinking about fishing in those conditions. 2.  Leave your good rigs at home. That fly rod was one of my favorites and also lost a nice vintage Orvis featherweight reel.  So now its my eagle claw and a reel that i dont mind losing. much...  However, i was using an outfitter's kayak which was not a fishing yak.  I bought a fishing yak mid summer with plenty of rod holders, some especially designed for fly rods.  No other problems but i still dont bring my best stuff on a float. I use that around camp...  Speaking of camping planning on going down to the Current in a couple weeks to camp and wade fish.  You think camping at Cedar Grove proper would be pretty quiet this time of year? Of course i could bushwack a little to a gravel bar i suppose...
