MOsmallies Posted April 3, 2016 Posted April 3, 2016 Had a really fun day on LOZ with my father-in-law today despite the strong winds. Not crazy numbers or size but a lot of fun and and a lot of good laughs! Had 16 total with 6 keepers. Lost a decent keeper and had another 4 lber follow my bait to the boat but never bite. Water temps never got above 53. Rock transitions and secondary points leading into spawning pockets produced best. Caught some in the backs of creeks and some closer to the mainlake. Didn't seem to matter... RK Crawler, Wiggle Wart, Spinnerbait, and Homemade Jig w/ a Mitch Craw did the damage. Did more beer drinking with some neighbors than fishing this afternoon and ended the day with a few crappie. I truly love this place!! Back at em in the AM! I was out with a buddy and we could only manage 2 keeps with 14 or so shorts. Lot of boats out fishing yesterday. Pict of best fish yesterday on spinnerbait mixermarkb, 96 CHAMP and MOsmallies 3
m&m Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 MOSmallies, sounds like a pretty good day despite the cold. Thanks for the pictures. Mike MOsmallies 1
MOsmallies Posted April 4, 2016 Author Posted April 4, 2016 Bill....is that you? Hahahaha... He's cold when it's 90 degrees out. Never seen the man sweat in the 15 years I've known him! Pat Magee 1
fishinwrench Posted April 5, 2016 Posted April 5, 2016 Sunday was a kick in the nuts for us. Fought that rediculis wind all day long for 2 piddly keepers and a couple of big drum. Then I hear that several strong limits were caught on BUZZBAITS ! Who'da thunk it. If my partner had tied on a buzzbait I would have looked at him like he had lost his mind. Just when you start thinking that you know everything...... MOsmallies 1

Just when you start thinking that you know everything...... Wow! I wouldn't have the confidence to throw it but i've heard they'll start hitting it again when the water hits 49 in the spring. None of our fish were on the bank last weekend. Most were in that 6-8 foot range off the bank.I struggled Sunday morning too... Only a couple 14.5 inchers and two keeper crappie. My second day is never as good as my first day when I come down there. I think I need to find some new spots
