Ketchup Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 Between the online readings, looking at maps, breaking down Travs reports years back, to looking at the "secret" pigs that have come out of there, I'm pretty sure I'm ready and experienced enough due to the above info, that I can have some nice 100 plus fish "LM" days very soon. Yep, pretty sure I have Lower Taneys number. ? TinBoats BassClub. An aluminum only bass club. If interested in info send me a PM.
laker67 Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 I was told that a "heddon sputterfuss" was the hot bait right now.
sms_alum Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 Maybe you can provide pictures. That part always was missing from ole Trav's posts.
Ketchup Posted April 6, 2016 Author Posted April 6, 2016 I was told that a "heddon sputterfuss" was the hot bait right now. Awww, the Ol' Arbogast bait. Haven't seen one in years. In my younger days, fishing in one of my grandparents stock tanks "Known as ponds in this area" I remember one of the old Zebco's my grandpa let me use had something similar tied on it. I'm not 100% sure that's what it was, but it rings a bell. I hear there's lots of Lilly pads in the lower, or Bull Creek area which is what I grew up fishing around, so the old childhood feelings are ready to expose themselves when I venture down this weekend. I'm excited to start learning that lake, and see what the challenge of those secret fish is all about. TinBoats BassClub. An aluminum only bass club. If interested in info send me a PM.
rps Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 I have no doubt the lower lake holds many bass. I also suspect they are far less lure shy than those near Kimberling City or Big M. The problem I have is the 100+ fish days. Five or seven years ago I had a 63 topwater fish day. I remember a day in Canada with my father where we caught smallmouth all day long on Mepps spinners during a Mayfly hatch. I don't remember too many other days to match those. Let us compromise. I think you can arrange multiple limit days, and I wish them upon you.
MOPanfisher Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 I haven't fished the bull creek confluence on Taney since I left Forsyth many years ago, was usually some decent fishing there. Ought to be some big uns fattened on trout but I never caught any of them.
Ketchup Posted April 6, 2016 Author Posted April 6, 2016 Maybe you can provide pictures. That part always was missing from ole Trav's posts. While reading his posts, many of them, that was one thing that stuck out, was no proof as in picture form. The old saying "If you don't provide a picture, it didn't happen" comes to mind. I don't know Trav or anything other than what I have read here, but according to his posts, he has the lower figured out. I remember reading one of his posts where someone mentioned one of his posts not being accurate, or something, and he stated that he is the man in that area, and he would prove it, or something to that. I'm always game for a good challenge to those that need to prove a point. Glad to post pictures of my outings, as I have done several times Is Trav still around? Hunter91 Posted April 22, 2016 Posted April 22, 2016 Have caught a ton of fish on lower Taney in the past several years. Whites, bluegill, crappie and bass. Caught several bass in the 5-6lb range. Would like to figure out if there are any walleye in there. I have trolled and only caught trout.
