skeeter Posted April 8, 2016 Posted April 8, 2016 ha ha....understatement of the year (, ) "wind was terrible".
mjk86 Posted April 8, 2016 Posted April 8, 2016 Seems like table rock crappie reports show up from Feb to April. Then no more all year. Where do they go in the summer? At stockton they just go out to the middle of the spawning cove and suspend around any structure or bait. Trolled cranks 10 to 15 feet down catches em good. They are even more catchable for me in may and june. Any ideas as to why they seem to behave differently on table rock? Maybe they scatter or relate purely to shad amd are just not numerous? I've never crappie fished on table rock, but it sure seems like mum is the word after they spawn.
bobby b. Posted April 8, 2016 Posted April 8, 2016 We have been catching some off our dock (Indian Point area) - cleaned 9 the other day but they were just barely legal size - mostly males. Question - two weeks ago they were good size (one was 2.5 pounds). Why bigger then and all smaller now? Bobby
aarchdale@coresleep.com Posted April 8, 2016 Posted April 8, 2016 We were out Wednesday battling the wind, caught around 30 with 10 keepers. All were caught after the storms passed around noon. Wind made it very difficult to get my 1/32nd jig where i wanted it. All these were caught up Flat Creek tight in brush, most in deeper structure. Water temp from Bridgeport to back up in the Creek was 60-61. terryj1024 and arsenal1477 2
Biglerma Posted April 8, 2016 Posted April 8, 2016 Headed down to Shell Knob today, going to fish way up Kings. Hope we can find some shallow.... by far my fav way to catch em. Would love to see warm water temps up river.. fingers crossed!
Devan S. Posted April 8, 2016 Posted April 8, 2016 Biglerma. I fished this week in the Kings area for crappie. I found them in area where the wind was blowing into the bank and where there were lay downs. Caught a few shallow but most deeper. Really spread out but was able to duplicate the pattern in 3 or 4 spots. My guess with the wind this week and weekend you could nearly duplicate that pattern all up and down the kings. We also ended up catching a few whites in the same areas.
