Bill Babler Posted April 11, 2016 Posted April 11, 2016 Fished with Sr. and Jr. yesterday on our annual jaunt, with this year being out of Shell Knob. We fished 7 total hours and it was just about as hard as I thought it could get. We fished from Campbell Point to Big M. and found water temps to be 54 to a top of 56.7 Fished both main lake and pockets did not see any 60 plus degree water. We looked a little for beds and only saw maybe 1 but nothing was on or even near it. We did see a few crusing while we were bed hunting. Had 12 bass with 3 keepers, two solid LM that Jr. caught on a Jig and one squeak that I tricked on a 110 plus 1 jerker. Also had a very nice 18 inch rainbow that we caught at Viney on the same jerker. Wind totally beat us up, it blew everyway but up and down and at times seemed to be doing that. These boys are not Ned riggers, but it would not have mattered. The fish would have had to hit a topwater Ned as our line skated all over the place. Hats off to Fisherman for catching more than he could count. That did not happen to us or anyone we spoke to. It is always the case on Table Rock, someone is on them somewhere. Just was not us yesterday. Good Luck Quillback, merc1997 Bo and dan hufferd 3 http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
176champion Posted April 11, 2016 Posted April 11, 2016 Thanks for the report Bill!! I know everything about nothing and know nothing about everything! Bruce Philips
Quillback Posted April 11, 2016 Posted April 11, 2016 I tip my hat to anyone that can catch a bass in that wind. It was really blowing yesterday here in Bella Vista.
m&m Posted April 11, 2016 Posted April 11, 2016 Bill, thank you for the report. it was tough Saturday and we decided to not even try to fight the wind on Sunday. Mike
176champion Posted April 11, 2016 Posted April 11, 2016 It was gusting to 30 mph yesterday around the house and in no one direction either...lol.. This weather and temps bouncing all around no doubt has the fish confused at least i would think it would. I know everything about nothing and know nothing about everything! Bruce Philips
Nitro 750 Posted April 11, 2016 Posted April 11, 2016 Thanks Bill for the report. Now I do not fell so bad about our tough day on the lake Saturday, sounds like most people a had a tough time this weekend.
Smithvillesteve Posted April 11, 2016 Posted April 11, 2016 Thanks for the report Bill. A friend and i spent quite a bit of time trying to fish last tuesday evening thru sat. We fought strong winds all week. Some gusts reported up to 45 mph. We couldnt find any fish in the wind throwing Rock Crawlers and spinnerbaits and jerk baits. We did catch quite a few bass, 42 thurs and 37 friday throwing the Ned in calmer waters. Mostly small fish, sorry Dave. 2 or 3 keepers combined each day. The Ned was the only way we could catch fish. So we stayed with it and caught a few nice 13-14 inch spots which is a lot of fun on our spincast setups. I had a nice 14 inch spot with the biggest belly i have ever seen on a fish. And he fought like a freight train! We figured with a new moon and water temps in the upper 50's we had a great chance to catch some quality fish. didnt happen and it sounds like it was tough sledding for a lot of fisherman. But we had fun in the great outdoors and cant wait to get back down there again. Life is good.
merc1997 Bo Posted April 11, 2016 Posted April 11, 2016 i hear you bill. daytime fishing sure seems to be very hit and miss right now. we have one front after another and the water temps are up and down also. even for dummies like me that have to go at night to find some of the dumb bass, they are hard to find and most definitely are not up on the bank. i think you did a good job of catching anything with the wind at hurricane level. with those conditions, you just chunk and wind and take what you can get. bo mixermarkb 1
mixermarkb Posted April 11, 2016 Posted April 11, 2016 Maybe totally different on TR, but on Bull last Tuesday, I kept cranking a wart with the wind at my back all day long and ended with 7 nice keepers. My brain kept telling me how slow the bite was, and it for sure wasn't normal spring numbers, but the quality was there. As soon as the wind and weather settles, it's gonna be ON FIRE!

There's a reason you've got repeat customers like us. Hats off. As far as fishing goes - it was a rough week. We really only had 2 good days from Saturday - Friday. And we covered water from Aunts to Big M. At least one boat in our group of 3 boats managed to find decent fish every day, but the biggest fish all week was 4lbs - tough to complain when the conditions were as they were, but still, we all know they're swimming around. Regardless of the outcome, we always have a great time on Table Rock. Thanks to everyone on this forum for sharing your awesome resources and infinite knowledge with us. Champ188 1
