tho1mas Posted April 12, 2016 Posted April 12, 2016 Anyone have any yet? I have had the feeders out for three days but no activity yet. Love the little guys.
BilletHead Posted April 12, 2016 Posted April 12, 2016 Good question Thom1as, I really do not remember when ours show up so I checked the conservation calendar. Says the 11th. Missouri bird book says the middle of this month. Looks like you are on the ball. Mrs. BilletHead says she will get a feeder out today:). Thanks for the reminder. tho1mas Posted April 15, 2016 Author Posted April 15, 2016 Still no birds at my feeders in Nixa. May have to change the food before they arrive.
BilletHead Posted April 15, 2016 Posted April 15, 2016 Hey Tho1mas! One showed up in Vernon County. No not here but at my Mom's a few miles away . It will be nice to hear the masses around our feeders this summer. tho1mas Posted April 15, 2016 Author Posted April 15, 2016 BilletHead - thanks - do you think they help your garden?
BilletHead Posted April 15, 2016 Posted April 15, 2016 Not sure about the veggie garden but they work the heck out of the perennial flowers we have going. I think they do more for our well being and the entertainment they provide is priceless. Johnsfolly Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 Haven't seen any at our feeders yet. We have a feeder above our porch just under the eaves and we love to sit out there and listen to them buzz by. Often one will hoover just looking at us as we sit there in the evenings. If we actually could understand their chatter as the dominant birds chase off the other ones, that they are just constantly swearing at each other. BilletHead 1
tho1mas Posted April 18, 2016 Author Posted April 18, 2016 At last one lonely HB came in for drink late Sunday eve. It left before I could get a pic.
