Something else to think about is that with the high water from December could have washed any sort of debris into the cove you speak of. Could be part of a dock, cables or a zillion other man-made sharp/rough/abrasive thingies. Not ruling out Zebra's and really hope that is not the case here.

On another note I did notice last time down a few weeks ago that either the MDC or COE spray painted a warning sign on the ramp pavement at Old 86 informing launchers to be aware of the Zebra's. First time I've seen that on TR.

Should have an answer in a couple of weeks, notified the MDC.

It's on every public ramp I've been to recently on TR.

That's a good thing. This is the first year I've ever noticed it and I am glad they are addressing it. At least they are trying to make boaters aware to help prevent the spread the invasive mussels from the chain of lakes in the White River, etc.

Noticed it painted on the ramp at SK Sunday.

That makes me NOT want to fish the Rock any more. I would hate to bring those things to my Stockton. I know you can wash them out but still. YUCK

Some of the best walleye and smallmouth fisheries are covered in mussels, and people fish a lot of cheaper jigs there too. Well maybe that last comment isn't substantiated but I would :D

Zebra mussels haven't been confirmed in TR yet, but suspect it's a matter of time.  Of course I thought the same about Pomme Stockton, and Truman being so close to LOZ but no confirmations yet.  Hope they stay out.
