bobby b. Posted April 25, 2016 Posted April 25, 2016 Spinner bait, Whopper Plopper and square bills that worked Friday did not work this evening. Water temperature had dropped two degrees to 59. Found fish (all SM) on gravel points with 1/8 oz. green pumpkin Ned. Bobby dan hufferd, Quillback and dtrs5kprs 3
Champ188 Posted April 25, 2016 Posted April 25, 2016 Sunday was a bit of a challenge all over the lake. Donna and I struggled to get many keeper bites. That will happen when you have 400-plus tournament boats and a bunch more recreational fishermen out there pounding on them for a couple of days straight.
dtrs5kprs Posted April 25, 2016 Posted April 25, 2016 Indeed. Think a lot of the fish have put the proverbial necktie on the dorm room door too. Can almost hear the Barry White playing, just can't see them for the color. Wind was just useless yesterday.
96 CHAMP Posted April 25, 2016 Posted April 25, 2016 I on the other hand have a different report, I found yesterday to be a awesome day for a spinnerbait bite, was up in big creek when the wind picked up and decided to throw a spinnerbait, I immediately noticed the bass were chasing it but would not commit, so I try running it just under the surface and the game was on, I can't say how many I caught but I caught fish all day with the biggest being 3.8 lbs. For me the wind was the key, went out after dark and had a pretty good spinner bait bite also slow rolling. Thinking if the wind picks up today maybe the same, we will find out. Good luck Quillback 1

I fished the Cow Creek to Point 5 area yesterday and kept asking myself, "where is everybody"? I did struggle to get bites which might explain it. On another note, the water in that area sure seemed dirty to me. "There was a time that I didn't fish, but I cannot remember it."
m&m Posted April 25, 2016 Posted April 25, 2016 I can't speak for Sunday, but Saturday I was around Point 5 and there were boats everywhere. I was able to catch 3 keepers (2 on a jig near wood and 1 on a Ned on a pea gravel bank) all in a few hours. I got off the water right after noon and timing was good. When I pulled up to the courtesy dock at Moonshine ramp there had to be 100 college kids on the parking lot with coolers waiting for a bunch of boats to arrive so they could spend the day on the water. I thought I was at LOZ. Mike 96 CHAMP 1
96 CHAMP Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 Went back out Monday about 9:00 am, caught 1 keeper on senko, when the wind picked up I went back to the spinnerbait and caught several, no keepers, noticed they were acting different than Sunday, went back up into big creek and got on a good top water bite with the F13, found just the right bank and caught 4 nice keeper males and several smaller ones in a matter of about a hour and a half, they were coming up out of 10-12' of water and slamming that bait, probably guarding nest I would assume, all in all a good day, have 1 more day tomorrow to mess around with, been trying to find a better senko bite, good luck!! bobby b. Posted April 26, 2016 Author Posted April 26, 2016 96 Champ, good for you. I was out in the same areas that worked for me last Wed - Sunday this p.m. from 4 - 8 pm and only one short fish. Guess I should have went earlier. Oh well, nice day but the humidity is starting to climb. Water temperature around Point 5 went from 59 last night to 65 this p.m. Bobby 96 CHAMP 1
