Bass stocking

the best man in my wedding, who we laid to rest sat, was a fisheries biologist in iowa trying to increase the bass population up there. they did a lot of stocking i think.

I suppose a trout patterned bait would be really good in the Roaring River and White River arms. I haven't made it over that way to try it out.

I just think we should go all in on the big spots. They aren't Alabama's so they won't get as big, but I'll bet MDC trout trucks would fatten them up some.

How's the swimbait bite been? Had high hopes for it, but didn't see it with the water colored up.

It's really sucked since the Christmas flood. I blanked at the BPS Big Bass this year. And threw everything that was supposed to be working and then some.

It's really driving me nuts that the TR is still this dirty. It started getting really good for me in December when it reached 15 fov. The only big bait bite since was a 16" LM bottom bumping a Savage Gear 8" 3d line-thru in March.

And this was sent to me last week. I've disgusted the guy's face as he hasnt posted this on his Facebook, but I'd say this Spot is an easy double digit.

Nah, maybe 7-8lbs.  He's holding that thing way out...  World record is only 10 1/2lbs and it was way bigger than that one even at arms length.

Not to revel in your misery, but at least it wasn't just me. Had plans to throw some at them on the roll off edge of spawning flats, maybe even at some bed fish. Just a deal breaker if it wasn't bumping along the bottom. So much for my 8" Zman Mag Swimz.

Maybe they'll get worked up over gizzard shad here in a little bit, and make some of that turn on. I think it may stay tough for swimbaits (big) and TW if it doesn't clear up.

And I agree Dave, the dirty water has been a sucker punch to my big bait confidence. Even more now with that stringy green slime growing in the Dam area...
