hoglaw Posted May 8, 2016 Posted May 8, 2016 My wife fishes with me. I'd honestly rather take her than go with just about anyone else. She is also very honest and adamant about her limits. If it's bad cold or raining she says have a great time. I have a lot of great memories fishing with her. My favorite might be last year when she wanted to do the three mile float to the house when she was seven months pregnant. I wouldn't let her drag her kayak over the log jams and shoals, but otherwise she fished as hard as she always does. rps, grizwilson and Mitch f 3
Stein Posted May 12, 2016 Author Posted May 12, 2016 Got a chance to try out the new Air Stream rods last night doing a little crappie fishing at my cabin. Second fish - maybe 10-11" er - swung it into the boat and right before I set it in the bottom of the boat the rod snapped off about 2 1/2 feet from the end. Very surprised at this as it was a little fish. Grabbed the other identical rod and finished the evening with no other issues. Hopefully BPS won't give me any grief on an exchange tonight. Had to be a manufacturing defect - it just let go with no warning with around half a pound on it.

I hope you have better luck with them going forward. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
Stein Posted May 13, 2016 Author Posted May 13, 2016 No issues with BPS, just swapped it for another. I was going to go to a 7' but they didn't have any. They had 6'6" or 7'6" and those started getting a little whippy.

I dearly love the 7 footer and I think the 6'6" would be very close to that. I have seen the actions of rod vary a bunch though. I have used St Croix "L"s in 5'6", 6', 6'6", and 7' and they are all different from each other. The 7' footer is an awesome live bait rod, but the 6' and 6'6" are sensitive enough to fish jigs tight lined. The 5'6" didn't throw as well as the others, but you could still feel with it. So, I recommend the rod I have used the 7 foot one. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish

I bought pink jigs, but I can't buy a bite with them. i think he will want some White 1/32 oz and some Olive/Ginger 1/32 oz. I don't think I need a full range of colors in 1/32 oz, but believe they are needed. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
